I cannot tell if this is another troll or not, but the NCSL brackets just came out. Once again, three of our top teams are in NCSL (not the top division, either). And there are a considerable amount of age groups that are missing LMVSC teams. There are no blue teams. On top of that, we just lost two directors and apparently there was a COVID-19 case on Friday but people weren't notified until Monday (I found out through this board).

So, I hope I am speaking to a troll.

Do you have a link to the NSCL brackets?

I'm confused, I received the two emails about the leadership change but the website remains the same.

JN: "Director of Travel And Coaches"
SO: "Director of Coaching U14 – U19"
JC: "Director of Technical Development"
FL: "Director of Coaching U9 – U13"

Also, will this have any impact on the squads/academy this year? Any plan on the ages that only have one team and/or zero teams in nearby age groups?

That's a broad question, but to respond to all parts of my previous post:
- club members received and email stating it was no longer sustainable to keep JN and SO as full-time directors; they would remain as coaches
- club was supposed to move to the academy-style training, similar to PEP/PAT format but for every session (there is an age-group team made up of red/white/blue squads)
- there are no blue teams, several ages have only one team and several ages have no teams

Thanks for sharing. I guess they are trying to stay afloat.

Hoping to get some information regarding academy/training. We're basically in what we view as a 'critical age' and don't wish to waste a year.

A player? Who has been practicing?

“Friday evening, I recieved a report that a player training with the 2012 Girls on Wednesday July 29, 2020, 5:45 PM at Edison Lower was unknowingly exposed to a family member that tested positive for COVID-19, July 31, 2020. After July 29, 2020, this player has not attended training. The player experienced symptoms on August 5th and since tested positive for COVID-19, August 7, 2020.

Currently the player is symptom fee, feeling well and continues to quarintine. Players training on July 29th, 5:45 PM, Edision HS Lower should daily monitor for symptoms.” guess this only went out to our age group

Interesting difference. I only saw the email issued today, and it contains nothing about LMVSC getting notified "Friday evening." (I assume this means 8/7.)

Even still, a few days delay seems reasonable given this is a club organization and the leadership needs to work with county health officials and probably other external parties before it can take any action WRT to positive COVID-19 case. Please remember there are HIPAA regulations for maintaining healthcare privacy and an extra layer when the healthcare information concerns children under 18 years old.

As I read today's note, fairly impressed by the decision to go beyond shutting down the age groups in closest contact with the player who tested positive to cover the entire club. The suspension of all club events runs through the week with an update planned for later. Meanwhile, LMVSC will hold parent/coach meetings. Can't wait for all the squabbling that parents will post here. (And, fingers crossed, some positive comments too.)

Cool. For a club that hashtags Clorox, I’m not impressed.

Would you have this impression if information was provided to the club about this situation earlier in the week and sooner than Friday?

The lack of timely communication is shocking. This time of year, it is not uncommon for families to have family vacations (some with extended family), live with elderly, a newborn or first responder, or simply planning a nice weekend at the park among close friends. Delaying the communications with families that shared a field and may have been in contact with the player or parent, is irresponsible on behalf of LB. Is safety the priority at LMVSC or is it that just lipservice on behalf of LB.

Positive = shut down club
Negative = lack of timely communication and putting the area at risk
