I guess we’ll get our refund whenever they decide to? So glad you spent the money on free Zoom calls.

I’m not feeling good about being in this “academy” structure. Some ages have no teams, or only one. How is DD going to get “challenged” when it’s 12 players? Oh except seeing less of red team coach. Then again if DD makes white team (if there is one), apparently she can get judged once a season by the “academy coach”? Yeah I’m sure she won’t be nervous then.

Does this club still exist?

At least there was clarity on no refunds cause I still don’t understand this new approach. Does DS get character and community growth, or is it continuity and developmental growth?

I didn't get the chance to attend. Can someone post the cliff notes? Or will there be some sort of slide presentation released? We're most likely not coming back but interested in what they had to say.

Sounded pretty clear that team fees were definitely being returned and refunds given once money returned from leagues. Ok,it would be better if now but at least it’ll come in.

If you think that’s how academy works where your dd will only see an academy coach once than you weren’t listening. They train together each time. Plenty chances for everyone to be seen.

Not ideal situation to be in and I would also prefer to have a discount but it is what it is. My ds team has had plenty of interactions and kept him busy during this crappy situation.

Another academy BS approach. They are just trying to sign up as many players as possible without committing them to a team. It was not an impressive approach and funny how they compared the approach to European countries. This model doesn’t fit the US lets be honest. Curious to see if they survive. At least they will refund team fees.

Yeah I heard the “train together” part. About two sentences later “and academy coach will see at least one game, because game is so much more to see a player play.” Hope DD isn’t having a bad day, playing out of position since so few players, or just nervous because this is her one chance.

To me it didn’t sound like the academy coach would be attending the game to evaluate players but that he would be there to observe that the coach and team were performing in the same academy style of play. In academy setting the train together is where the player comparison is done. To me less designation of team color, more chances for my ds and your dd if designated “white” team players.

What is an example of a local club that went academy style that is successful? This was popular back in 2014-2016

Oh so DD won’t be evaluated as a player nor for red team, just the team coach evaluated by academy coach to make sure all players are playing the same? I didn’t realize the intent was to really hammer “play the way I show you how to play”. I thought they were teaching the game. I honestly cannot believe this.

Im not with this club but the point of the academy is for all players to learn the same topics, style of play, players challenging each other daily, being observed constantly and getting opportunities to play in best setting based on their capabilities. Isn’t showing them how to play teaching the game? You guys are just twisting every word or not wanting to understand. If my kid was on a lower team I much rather they be exposed to the better players in this environment to help them get better instead of being stuck on a lower team against the same level competition and never getting the chance to move up. I guess some people are just too concerned that their status may change as little Johnny plays on a lower team for one game.

So what were they doing for the past year? Just because white team players are there with red team players doesn't mean white team will grow to level of red team. When they changed the PEP nights from 'all red teams' to 'everybody in the age group', I don't remember seeing white and blue teams burst through the seams. This same logic could go the other way: red team gets lowered down to white team. By the way, there was no word on what U16 and up will do.

Thank you for the info. We had a schedule conflict and could not attend.

Cliff notes:
- No info on dollar amount or date on refunds. Somehow, money was spent already so now they’re figuring out how to pay back with tournament fees and league fees? I don’t understand. Apparently every club is already figuring this out. Unless I missed something, wasn’t very clear. They didn’t address how there’s fewer players this year, and they just took in less money.
- Teams will be “academy” for training and broken into “squads” for games. I also still can’t understand what the intent is. It sounded to me like “standardize development” but apparently other posters see it as something else. To me, it’s either DS is red team player and there to support the growth of white team players, or, DS is white team player who must play in the style of a red team player to get a chance to play on red team. Not sure what 2007/2008 girls or 2009 boys are doing since they have one team.
- Coaching slate came out. Really confused on this one because last year’s town hall we were told coaches will only have two years with a team. I guess 2004 and 2005 girls are the exception.
- Everybody gets a renewal offers. You’ll have a week to decide.

TL;DR: no hard info on refunds, all practices apparently will be for entire age group to bolster how many are there, coaching slate, renewals.
