God's plan for animals includes abortion rights.
A female osprey in Montana whose nest the Cornell Lab or Ornithology has been observing for years via streaming cam stopped incubating her eggs and abandoned the nest a week ago. Today a raven came by and took the eggs. It turns out that the male osprey, who's responsible for feeding her and the chicks had taken up with another female a mile away, and wasn't bringing any food at all. He'd only show up once in a while to copulate. Although the female is a devoted and experienced mom who's raised somewhere around two dozen chicks or more during her long life (virtually all of them with another male that died) and a fierce huntress who can catch prey within minutes of leaving the nest, her offspring would almost certainly be doomed to dying from hypothermia or predation if she had to leave them in the early weeks to go fish. Last year, the male was such a poor provider that two of her three chicks died of starvation, the second one slowly and excruciatingly. DP. Only use abortions if contraception was really used but failed. |
|
Matricide. |
Um, no. Matricide is killing one's mother. |
How are you going to determine that contraceptives actually were used before allowing the Abortion? |
|
GOP: Women who want abortions are irresponsible, morally inept and heartless.
More GOP: They should also be mothers |
Are you saying some women do want to experience a crisis pregnancy? |
Oh my god, read Sara Blaffer Hrdy. The animal kingdom is very much into controlling reproduction. And if you think abortion is bad, you ought to read about Victorian orphanages. |
Even if you do all these things, the need for abortion will remain. Think about all these Amnio/CVS tests and the reason for them. Would they be even necessary, why were they invented in the first place if every pregnancy must go to term? Should a woman who finds out her next baby, a wanted baby, has terrible chromosomal abnormalities be forced to have the baby? Should a girl who is held against her will or brainwashed and raped be forced to have a baby when she finally breaks free and has a chance to take a pg test? Should a woman with health issues or mental issues or drug addictions be forced to have a baby? It's not about contraception and education or even health care, it's also about life and circumstances that are often outside of one's control. |
I’m the pp - my point was intended to be about why women would abort rather than carry a pregnancy to term and place the baby for adoption. I had the resources, health care, partner etc to overcome my challenges but many women if they needed bedrest, or frequent medical appointments (ie all pregnant women) would risk losing a job. Especially if clinics are defunded and women’s health care providers are a long bus ride away. Without safety nets it is unreasonable to expect women who don’t want to be pregnant would all choose to risk economic ruin or health risks when abortion allows them to avoid those. |

Guy rapes a 12 year old serves 6 months in prison
He gets out, rapes another teenagers and serves four years in prison "Mirasolo could have been sentenced to 25 years to life for the sexual assault of Tiffany, but was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was released from jail in July 2009. In March 2010, he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old Deckerville girl and later pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Mirasolo was paroled in July 2016, according to a state corrections database." https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2017/10/17/sex-offender-custody-case-hearing/106736162/ https://nypost.com/2017/10/09/convicted-rapist-gets-joint-custody-of-victims-child/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Really says a lot about our justice system if you punish a woman seeking abortion more than you punish a child rapist |
Why aren’t condoms on the list? |
When did women become baby making machines for the more privileged? |
I'll bet that there would have been a different outcome if "this young man" had gone through the court system in Alabama or Texas. |
