This Is Us -- Season 2

10:38 - I think she's complimenting the actor and criticizing snide, sarcastic, dismissive people.

A little far fetched but what if no one is sure whether Kevin is home and Kate sends Jack back in to check the basement and that’s when he does.

Remember they lost all their stuff?

I’m recalling one item that they forgot to ‘burn’

Remember Randall had a book from his mom? And it was really William’s book? Right?

Help me out here.... (maybe she bought him a copy later in life?)

I have been wondering if the fire is all a red herring and Jack is going to survive... time will tell.

This show was one of the very best, IMO. That scene you describe, and also the one with Kevin receiving his pendant back. In fact, Kevin makes me cry more than any of the others. There's something about him that is so, so sad. Plus, he's a really good actor.

One funny moment - loved it when Kevin and Randall were walking in slo-mo down the hall to fix up the building. Kevin rolling his eyes at Randall (rolling up his sleeves to show muscles) was hilarious.

People like to hate on the actor who plays Kevin, but I'm with you--I find him both charming and touching. The only thing I don't like is the disconnect with his portrayal as a young boy. The writers don't give the young Kevin an opportunity to express the charm and humor that is so defines adult Kevin.

This is true. The teenaged Kevin is actually very unlikeable and arrogant.

I think most people are at their most unlikeable and arrogant as teenagers, so I think this fits. I think all the kid-teen-adult casting is amazing on this show, including Kevin's.

I feel like there is a snippet in the previews where Rebecca grabs a few important things as she's fleeing the house. Also, there is the cabin where the triplets looked at their childhood albums when they went to see it one last time before Rebecca sold it.

Sure, but teenaged Kevin is a real pill. And the actor who plays him plays it perfectly - snide, sarcastic, dismissive. Yuck.

Are you seriously shitting on the actor for portraying a teenager the way he is WRITTEN?! FFS...

Uh, no? Please read more carefully. I said the actor portrays him perfectly - meaning his acting is very believable as he portrays a snide, sarcastic, dismissive teen. Wow.

Yep - thank you. Glad someone can read.

Agree but a lot of teenagers are real pills. Their behavior is often a front for their insecurity &, even when it isn't, it is something many may grow out of as they mature.

Truth. And if you don't get to outgrow that pill attitude in front of you parent (who likely took the brunt of it) it's something that will stick with you indefinitely.

He's going to make it out of the fire and everyone will be relieved, and just when we think this isn't the moment... he will suffer the effects of smoke inhalation. I do not think Rebecca will be with him. Perhaps only Kate, who calls 911 and they take him to the hospital by ambulance.

I think this because:
We know THIS is the Super Bowl he dies. Rebecca, wearing her steelers shirt, is driving the car home with Jack's personal items in a plastic bag. She pulls up to the burnt house, presumably the next day.

The only thing that stuck out to me is that she was wearing a pink robe before bed, when she took the call from Kevin. I kept wondering when/why the steelers shirt is put back on. They must assume they're safe and then something happens which causes her to get dressed (with what clothes? they all burned in a fire) and drive herself to the hospital.

Maybe Rebecca looks for Kevin, Jack/Kate/Randall all go to Miguel's after the fire, that's when Jack has his episode and then Rebecca meets him at the hospital.

OMG, the true unconditional love that parents have for their children. Kate so full of pride finally understanding how beautiful her dad thinks she is. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

+1

That part was very funny. I love Randall. He's so goofy.

Yeah, the pajamas vs football jersey thing has bothered me, too.

I'm so relieved that he didn't die in the house- that would have been excruciating to watch!
