20 dead in upstate NY in limo accident

Apparently it was a wedding party. Along with 18 other guests, the bride and groom died.

I didn't even know a limo could hold 20 people. Were they packed in there like sardines? Their heads must have all bashed together.

It was one of these - they hold exactly 20 guests. I'm guessing bride, groom, MOB, MOG, bridesmaids, and groomsmen.

If they all died, and it was a two-vehicle accident, then someone ran into them? How did two people outside of the limo get killed?

From what I understand, it ran into a parking lot at a popular farm stand/cafe.

The driver ran a red light down a hill.

Was going 60 MPH and hit a parking lot with a farm stand, cars, and two people.

It's a pretty empty area. Not sure why he was speeding at 2 in the afternoon.

I wonder if it was a brake failure.

I had a family member pass away when the brakes failed in a new RV. It was a similarly horrific accident, and also involved careening out of control down a hill.

They were going so fast they went straight off the road and into a ditch. Maybe the driver realized at the last second he was going to hit the restaurant and so he veered to try to say those lives.

I’m betting nobody was wearing a seat belt. Even people who ordinarily are conscientious in their own vehicles follow different rules in big party groups and limos.
