ECNL moving to school year part 2

If you’re an Aug-Dec 2010 born player but will be in the same grade as the Jan to July 2010 players you will be allowed to tryout and potentially stay with that group if you’re good enough to make it. Otherwise you will either find another club or play on the RL team 2009/2010 or play the new age group 2010/2011 and be a grade above.
However I was told this is not ideal as showcases will be split and ran differently.

So he confirmed that Aug birthdays will play on the team thats their grade in school A or B team.

Or Aug birthdays would play down a grade but that wouldn't be "ideal" because of showcases. Translating director speak to reality is they dont want Aug players playing down and wont roster them this way unless theres no other options.

The guy talking about August players playing on school grade against the established age rules of the league knows he's just poking you sane people in the eyes

Yet you all keep arguing with the lunacy

Playing Aug birthdays on their correct grade in school team is 100% allowed in the rules.

So is playing them on age. The whole angst, perhaps false argument waste of time, is the debate about forcing it one way or the other.

Attach the link please

I only see the age groups based on Calendar and DOB

Where are the School Grade groups listed?
Also, where does it say you can play down in age?

Top team rosters posted this fall when SY starts again will all the same graduating year.

Coaches DOCs and clubs are salespeople. Don't listen to what they say watch and monitor what they do.

Yep, watching. Top Aug-Dec B team kids at HS level practicing with the YOUNGER A team REGARDLESS of grade to further clarify.

Your interpretation of PP isn't accurate.

Maybe you didn't understand the requests

That aside, which idiot puts together a roster based on school grade then tries to register them with a league using month/year of birth?

Idiots that want their players to get recruited and play in college.

Then focus on developing quality high level exceptional players that can perform strong in their age group or play up well

School playmates for play dates is for chucky cheese

Clubs allowing Aug to Dec players to play with their grade and forcing it are very different.

It doesn’t make sense for any player to play up and be a sub if you ca be a starter in your own age group.

But players/families can do whatever they want.

Parents and coaches who understand the sport will do the right thing for the kids with real talent and potential. Which are a limited few.

No need to worry about the masses

College coaches told clubs they don't care the age group of the kid. Best way to be best player is to be oldest in age group, best way to increase chances of quitting is to make them the youngest. College coaches want best player.
