| 18-13 final |
Where are all the fools who say that Landon's offense can't score more than 10 goals? Nearly doubled it up. |
|
Lots of scoring from Landon. Don't know names or tallies, but 50 had a monster game. But I had scoring from 7,22,10,8,13,11
19 Dominated the faceoff X, but don't know how much the pole was trying to win the draw or make it a fifty fifty ground ball. Plenty of offense, not a whole lot of D. 2 for Landon had some early take-aways. |
Rec league play for most of the game - did STA even play on ball D? |
|
Landon showed they can put up some numbers, albeit against a nonexistent D. Their FOGO is legit and may be the only one in the IAC who contends with Prep’s FOGO. Their Goalie is much better than what was on display yesterday and got no help from D.
Prep and Bullis are more complete teams and maybe 5 goals better. But easy to see a scenario where Prep or Bullis comes out flat against Landon. Landon jumps out quickly, then controls faceoffs while stronger goaltending protects the lead. Landon should not be taken lightly and will likely relish the role of spoiler. |
| They should swap out St Albans and Episcopal for Gonzaga and St Johns. That would create arguably the most competitive conference in the nation. |
Let's keep the Catholic school conference intact - GZ and STJ can always play IAC teams as well. |
| Bears lose to Saints 11-10 |
| Ouch |
|
Did Landon starting goalie get hurt ? I saw bears were up 6-2 at one point and didn’t return back to the game ?
Big win for the Saints to turn around on 24 hours after a shelling and punch Landon in the face. |
Landon goalie committed an unsportsmanlike full time penalty and never got back on the field. |
| interesting move to say the least but teaching a life lesson I guess. |
I guess St Stephens might play the role of spoiler in the IAC |
|
Game was 10-9 St Stephens. A great win for them. Down 6-1 at the very beginning of the second quarter, they run off nine goals to three and come back to win the game.
The league will be competitive this year. Now, no one can run the table. The season only matters to determine seeding for the end of season tournament. The only thing that matters is the tournament. If St. Stephens could have won more than a couple of 50/50's at the faceoff X, they would have pounded Landon. When do Bullis and Prep play St. Stephens? What do the prognosticators say about those match-ups? I think Saints will beat Bullis and give Prep fits, but Prep will ultimately convert all those possessions into a winning goal margin. |
Expect all kinds of chaos with teams playing two times in three days. Landon and Bullis both succumbed to let downs after winning their first games against SSSA and Prep, respectively. |
