Um, the facts on the ground have changed?

The only thing that's changed is your level of crazed desperation. Good luck with that!

The crazed desperation today was from Mitch McConnell with his “NOT ONE STEP BACK” speech.

And what a HORRIBLE fox news interview. He just about sunk whatever is left of the ship on that one. It will live in infamy, long after he’s flipping burgers. His wife looked at him with sheer loathing. It’s over.

Not really sure where you’re getting the sheer loathing part. Maybe you’re projecting your own loathing onto someone else.

+1
There was no "sheer loathing." How ridiculous. I saw exhaustion and exasperation, on both their parts. PP is simply trying to spin the narrative in a certain direction. It's not working.

Kavanaugh’s roommate from Yale has gone on the record saying that he believes the second accuser.

When your husband is defending himself by hyping up his longstandibg virginity, a lot of thoughts have got to be running through your head. Who am I, why am I here,

I think the virgin plan was because if any women come out and say they had sex with them, their super conservative Christian base will still support him. And I am not sure any women want to come forward and say they slept with him. He is the grossest man in America now.

I think she wants him to withdraw so they can just go back to their old life. And can you imagine trying to explain this to and/or shield your daughters from this? She just wants this nightmare to be over.

Withdrawing is tantamount to admitting guilt. If he says he is innocent, why on earth would he decide to withdraw? I know I wouldn't if I was being accused of something I didn't do. Their nightmare will never be over, unfortunately - whether he's confirmed or not. Some people have already decided he's guilty and will never look at him the same way again. It's really disgusting.

Yup. These women aren’t stormy Daniels. They’re highly educated respected professionals.

Laying the groundwork for a noisy withdrawal from the hearing maybe.

If that prosecutor questions Ford, Bromwich should question Kavanaugh.

What is a Bromwich?

Read links, people. Bromwich is one of Ford’s lawyers.

Your link does not say that.

Really?

It does not identify him as a lawyer in the signature block.

Who else would be communicating on behalf of ford to the judiciary committee?

Again, the letter does not say that. You are asking us to draw an inference. You should have just said that initially.

I’ve been anti-Brett the whole way but I I’m a little less so after watching.

I look forward to hearing Dr. Ford on Thursday.

The opposite. I believe Professor Ford but very once in a while have some doubts. But seeing Kavanaugh lying his way through an interview, he definitely did all that he was accused of.

Where are you getting that he "lied his way through" the interview? It really doesn't matter what he said - you presume guilt no matter what.

Helps inoculate himself against any forthcoming rape charge.

And it also shows that Kavanaugh is willing to lie about little things - like why he put her name on his yearbook memories page - which means he's willing to lie about the big things. It also shows all that claptrap about always respecting women in the interview tonight was BS.

Not to mention references to boofing (anal sex) and Devil’s Triangle. I cannot square his claim of being a well behaved virgin with the yearbook quotes, his membership in the “Tits and Clit” club and the “no means yes, yes means anal” fraternity in college, and the speech at Yale law about being drunk. The allegations fit in with his actions.

Yes, I can't imagine he's going to be coaching his daughters' teams anymore, that is for sure. I think the longer they stick this out the more chances that he will get impeached too. You can't have this kind of background and be a judge. Maybe something else, but not a judge.

You clearly haven’t been keeping up with this. Michael Bromwich is Andy McCabe’s lawyer and just left his firm to represent Ford. This was covered extensively in the last thread. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_R._Bromwich

Okay .. semi serious question.. are they really so precarious that they don't think they can get another judge through by Jan 3? Or has Trump dug in? Or are they absolutely wedded to kavanaugh for some other reason?

Pulling Kavanaugh and starting over would anger some of the base. But it seems like plenty of senators are worried about being crucified for ancient skeletons in their closets. Digging in won't solve that problem for them.

Bingo.

The base will be outraged if he is withdrawn. They view this situation as Kavanaugh being the victim of an eleventh hour character assassination attempt. They also don’t see what he is accused of as being that big of a deal 30+ years on. And they don’t want to set a precedent that they fear rewards dredging up ancient history for political attacks.

I think he will be confirmed. At this point things are so polarized that the GOP is just playing solely to their base. I think the Democrats realize this as well, but they have to answer to their own base.
