She has been fired. I am not sure that these repeated social media mobs that get people fired are a good thing. I am a pretty firm believer in the right to be an asshole from time to time. She deserves all the criticism in the world and maybe some assigned research on racial segregation, but firing for a Facebook post seems a bit much. |
Could be part of the reason for the supervisor coming down so hard on Casebolt. |
What an asinine leap in logic. Your condemnation of the teens and their future is telling. |
I disagree, but mainly because she is a teacher. I would not want her representing my school. And, as a black parent, I would not want her teaching my children. |
Not so much. It's a huge medal these kids got. Don't underestimate the arrogance and stupidity of teens. |
I agree. One of the reasons why I'm such as strong conservative is because I DO believe she has a right to her own views - freedom of speech. I don't agree, however, that she should be assigned research because she disagrees with the progressive viewpoint, any more than I think progressives need to do research into Christian viewpoints. |
But isn't that the same argument made by those that don't want gay or transgender teachers? Her views are abhorrent, no doubt, but there will always be someone who finds someone else's views to be abhorrent. But she will probably pick up a few hundred grand in a GoFundMe account over the next few days. The right wing loves their martyrs. So maybe, win-win in the end. |

| *WRONG and it's interesting how you are faulting THEM for the way that crazy cop acted. Outrageous, really. |
What makes you think progressives don't understand Christian viewpoints? I think anyone who wants to return to racial segregation probably doesn't understand the reality of it. |
I don't get what you mean here. And, sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Most certainly. But calling for a return to the Jim Crow era when blacks were subjected to horrible treatment...that's a step too far. Not to mention, how dumb is she to even post this crap? I mean, what did she expect to happen? Who posts stuff like this and not understand that there will be consequences? I'm tempted to believe this is all a ploy to get rich quick. |
Maybe if she worked at Macy's but this person was a teacher. She dies not have the right to poison the minds of children. |
Haha. The patrol cop is there securing the scene before the arrival of the homicide detective. So Patrol has seen the deceased., especially if they work in an urban area. Thank you very much. And in all these shootings that have made the news, it was your beat cops involved in the shootings. |
If they understood Christian viewpoints, they wouldn't be all about the forcing them out of business because they didn't tow the progressive line. I don't think she wants to return to racial segregation as you see it. I dare say that she's referring only to the criminal element, given she's stating also that they can hurt each other. That's how I read her post. Often-times, in 'bad' neighborhoods, it's 10% ruining it for the 90%. I'd love to separate out that 10% so the 90% can live in peace. |
Again, that is exactly the argument used to oppose gay and transgender teachers. Some claim that such teachers will poison the children's minds. I think a single Facebook post is pretty weak grounds for judging a person's entire character, but even if accurate, is there any evidence that her views have negatively impacted her teaching? I'm sure none of us know. |
