Official Kamala Harris VP Thread

This will be a party pick as best to win election, typically that's how it works with vetting by President candidate

White male with at least some military experience

Kaine by Clinton in '16 should have helped if Clinton had more support in first place

No they don't. They look like the 60 year old men they are.
Seasoned looking is good.
Babyfaced has people thinking too young and inexperienced not capable of being presy

Kelly looks older at 60 than Cooper does at 67.

That's not a recent picture of Cooper and I think you're a bit delusional about what 60 year old men look like.

And as mentioned before looking older is a plus

Not necessarily. Biden was just pushed out for being too old. Trump just selected one of the youngest potential VPs ever. People are getting tired of all these senior candidates. I’d argue that late 40s/early 50s are the sweet spot.

You know damn well nearly 82 and 60 are not the same.
You also know he wasn't ousted for simply being old or looking old. He was struggling to form coherent thoughts.
Stop it with the trolling

Kamal la is making the decision. She will choose someone she trusts, who has governing experience and is a good communicator. Lucky for her she has several options.

This big bad party making the decisions is tiring and stupid.

Why would anyone with a shot at running a successful presidential bid in the future want to hitch their wagon to Harris now?

Why wouldn't they?

That would be Mark Kelly. Navy test pilot, combat pilot who flew assault missions over Iraq during Desert Storm, Astronaut who flew several missions into outer space. No other candidate can meet that level of badass.

Trump is almost as old as Biden and constantly struggles to form coherent thoughts only to end up rambling incoherently about batteries and cannibals.

I don't think it's necessary to be a badass. I think it's more important to be able to distill complex topics into simple catchphrases that people can understand. Pete is good at that, but no earthly way is there going to be a WOC/Gay dude ticket that can win anything (it will frankly be a worse choice than JD). Shapiro is out. That leaves Kelly, Collins, Walz. My money is on Walz; there is something very relatable about him.

Did Shapiro say he’s out?

Too much controversy so he's out.

No she does not just choose. That would be stupid.

Shapiro did not say he is out. Shapiro clearly wants it but imo he is trying to hard. It’s like he’s studied Obama and is desperate to emulate him - he’s good, quite good, but Pete is better and authentic.
