Official Kamala Harris VP Thread

My money's on Pete and I think he would be phenomenal. Obama is a big fan, I'm not sure of Clinton but would imagine so. Waltz is good but has an older vibe than Harris. Picking Pete would really be a "turn the page" moment for the country. It's risky but they're all risky.

I doubt it will be Pete. It will be a safer pick.

I feel more anxious than excited. The pick is going to make it break this election . Praying that they don't screw it up.

This. Right or wrong, my mom and many I know are basing their vote on VP pick.

Curious—what part of the country are they from and who do they like or not like?

Harris is way too progressive...which I actually agree with (but not so much that I'd vote for the alternative). But then I've resigned myself to just being forced to keep my opinions and values to myself lest I be labeled or cursed at (which is what the Dems have done and the reason why the Dem party has really turned off many of the more mainstream Americans - both Dem and Rep). I'll be educating any future grandchildren to respect all but to follow their own personal and individual values and beliefs whatever those are. The irony of now having to become closet Christians is not far off base. Now, that doesn't mean I agree with what the extreme RWNJ base is doing either. But it's sad seeing how polarizing our nation has become and I see no hope in sight right now.

I'm sure this will be followed by some LWNJ Dem condemning and cursing my above statement.

My bad for not answering the first question - NOVA. Also, I thought of an example that is right on point. Many years ago, while carpooling my DD and her two friends (one of who is LGBTQ) they were discussing a new puppy that the non-LGBTQ friend had just purchased. They were going over names for the puppy - she said well, he's a boy, so a boy's name. The LGBTQ friend asked why the gender should matter...I recall the other girl's response...she simply changed the subject. I was very proud that the girls were able to just leave it be and move on. Adults could learn a lot from children on how to deal with conflict.

Also...my mom likes neither. I kinda thought that was understood given my original post said she is waiting to see who the VP pick is. I don't actually know who she will vote for in the end (regardless of who the VP pick is) or maybe she actually won't vote for the first time in her life. It's her choice so either way I'm not going to condemn her for it.

That’s going to be incredible for Republicans 😂

Not sure why you’d think that. Her top picks have all made it pretty clear they want the job.

PP here - probably Kelly or Shapiro.

The Clintons have endorsed Harris. No idea on Obama.

No they don't. They look like the 60 year old men they are.
Seasoned looking is good.
Babyfaced has people thinking too young and inexperienced not capable of being presy

Kelly looks older at 60 than Cooper does at 67.

That's not a recent picture of Cooper and I think you're a bit delusional about what 60 year old men look like.

And as mentioned before looking older is a plus

Not necessarily. Biden was just pushed out for being too old. Trump just selected one of the youngest potential VPs ever. People are getting tired of all these senior candidates. I’d argue that late 40s/early 50s are the sweet spot.
