If there were a new club, we would totally join.

You left many years ago. You're saying everything is the same today?

Yes because leadership doesn’t care. Current coach is also verbally not nice, have heard him in games. Confirmed from former teammates who have gone there.

saw Bethesda boys u12 and u13 play this past weekend and they play really well. they both did not win their brackets but develop a good soccer style.

Our exp at Potomac (Girls) this year has been positive... from parents to coaches... our exp at BSC was not really all that bad either, but they made some decisions that I didn't agree with, so I voted with my wallet.

And say what you want about college play, if you look at D1 and top 25 D3 women’s rosters, every single player is ECNL. Maybe a couple GA or RL. Literally one or two out of every 30. We club shopped for several years and have landed at BSC for a decently kind coach (at least for this year) and for showcase exposure. Everything else you say about BSC is true: practices are a mess, fields are a mess, they change sometimes a hour prior to practice, team placement is political and opaque, and leadership is nonresponsive. Poor coaching is not addressed and verbal abuse is rampant on many teams. This is all true.
But if the goal is a good college placement, it is hard to get there from elsewhere in mid or northern MoCo.

and if you look at which clubs produce the D1 players, it is NOT the ones at the bottom of the standings. Look at the real numbers and the top 3 or 4 GA teams have more D1 than the bottom 3 or 4 ECNL teams. Just having "ECNL" on your jersey doesnt make you better

Does Bethesda have two ecnl teams per age group? I noticed pre u13 they list ecnl1, ecnl2, and pre-ecnl. Is that just to make parents think their kids on a better team than they are even though it's just 3rd or is it for true pre-ecnl?

they will combine the first and second teams when they get older since they need more girls when you play full field. Otherwise there is one team - ECNL and ECRL.

By U15 it is 2 teams, ECNL and ECRL.

By u13 when ECNL starts its two teams. But reallly one team, the 11 starters and everyone else. Elite coaching at its finest.

Have to pad the bench with a full team change that will never actually happen.

Yep. Pre-ecnl is the 3rd team at u12 and younger. Dumbest usage of “pre-ecnl” I’ve ever seen. Most use it for their top team at those ages.

BSC 09 ECNL lost to Coppermine?
Anonymous
Bethesda should feel ashamed of themselves for having a tournament at Muldoon Fields

That can't be the right score
