All the nice ones are about Joe and Travis. All the hate is for druggie Matty. |
Taylor has been like this forever. She’s always written songs about a short flings (like Jake Gyllenhaal) being some sort of deep romance. I don’t think Matty led her on. How could he have led her on about marriage and kids in a short fling? They were together for weeks before he ghosted her. |
She was down bad for him. The hate was because he ghosted her. |
Who knows what went down exactly. I suspect her fans, parents and PR team drove him away, and she wouldn’t defend him enough and tried to change + manage him, which upset him. Can’t say I blame him. I don’t think it was not one sided. Matty was the first one to mouth “This is for you. You know who you are. I love you”’ to her at the start of the song About You on stage Asia. She reciprocated with Cardigan. Matty wrote other songs about her over the years too, eg Oh Caroline, Me & You Together Song, Roadkill, Part Of The Band, etc. He was happy and sounding awesome on tour last winter and spring, and then a total wreck all summer and fall. |
Yea she was ghosted by a druggie after 2 month fling. Perfect transition fling from the long term love she had for Joe to her forever Travis. Transition flings are fun until they aren’t but they are necessary. |
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is exactly one melancholic song about Joe and one juvenile song about Travis. The rest of the album is all Matty Healy, as are dozens of songs from her prior albums. |
Falling off the wagon and doing pills has repercussions |
Nope. |
I think she kind of did. Illicit Affairs & Maroon paint a pretty telling picture of who she was hooking up with all those years. |
You must have done pretty poorly in HS English and not good at analysis either if you can miss such obvious clues on this album. So who do you think Fortnight, TTPD, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, Down Bad, But Daddy I Love Him, Fresh Out The Slammer, Guilty As Sin, I Can Fix Him, loml, I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, The Black Dog, imgonnagetyouback, Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, How Did It End, I Look In People’s Windows are about? In addition to TSMWEL and Peter and maybe the Bolter? |
Nope IA is about Joe she dated him before breaking up with Harris. Maroon is about Jake G. |
“Forever Travis”? I doubt it. They are not each other’s types. I think they are both mutually using each other. Her songs for him on the album indicated her feelings for him are akin to a superficial high school crush. Neither of his songs indicated Taylor has any deep feelings for him. I think she wanted Matty to be much more than a fling. Her songs for him indicated she had deep feelings for him. He’s the one who dumped her. |
Objectively speaking, so is Taylor. Just look up “young TS.” She just did a ton of plastic surgeries over the years to correct stuff: veneers, a nose job, fix the droopy eyelids, a boob job etc. Imo, Matty is good looking. I don’t care for Gabriette’s face but she has a great, slim body. |
You are a pretty awful person. That’s all. Oh, and just a reminder that karma does exist, so be careful what you put out into the world. |
Fortnight and How did it end are about Joe But daddy I love him - Travis (also alchemy, high school and albatross warns Travis about the media) Yes all the other I hate him, he sucks, what a terrible person songs are about Matty. Sad songs are about Joe, mad songs are about Matty. |
