Wasn’t she the happiest she’d ever been with Matty? That’s basically what she said on stage, in public. I think she left Joe for Matty believing it would be more than a fling. And I can understand how devastating it would be to blow apart your life for someone who leaves you a few weeks later.

This thread is nuts. People need to get a life instead of creating some narrative about taylor and a fling being some kind of Romeo and Juliet star crossed lovers.

Taylor is never going to be totally satisfied in a relationship. She is a creative, pensive type who chases the butterflies from the beginning of a relationship. She is a 34 year old operating like a 20 year old. at some point she’ll need to grow up and realize that she has to separate the short lived fantasies she loves storytelling about from the reality of a stable long term relationship. Or she’ll be perpetually in a revolving door of relationships, the quality of which will deteriorate quickly as she ages. All fine if she doesn’t want to settle down, but if she does, girl has got to sort through her issues.

Getting married at 34 requires maturity and compromises that are not the best material for songs. Her fans want her to live happily ever after with her one true love, while she actually needs to settle, and quickly.
