Hogan running for Senate

When has McConnell Senate been open-minded and moderate? I mean the man held up Obama's judicial nominees because he said it was an election year. And then four-years later he bum rushed ACB through the approval process during an election year because he saw the possibility of a Biden victory. The current Senate under Schumer has been moderate, and a little lackluster for my taste. I wish the Dems would learn to fight dirty like the Republicans.

New poll has Alsobrooks ahead by 5:

Harris was smart to give her a prime time speaking slot at the DNC.

Prince George’s County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks (D) has pulled ahead of former governor Larry Hogan (R) in Maryland’s competitive Senate race with just over two months left before the November election, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The poll, conducted between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30 by Gonzales Research & Media Services, found that 46 percent of registered voters would support Alsobrooks “if the election were held today,” as opposed to 41 percent who said they support Hogan — an edge that reflects the momentum Alsobrooks may have gained after delivering a prime-time speech at last month’s Democratic National Convention.

You are not a moderate Democrat, and you were never going to vote for the Democratic candidate for Senate.

+1 you sound like a loon, good riddance

Of course he said that. Do you think he would say "The polling data don't look that great, actually, but I'm still doing great with my core demographic of older rural white voters."

Someone posted the actual poll in the politics forum. That poll had them tied.

Since she has barely started campaigning, whereas he has name recognition and has been running ads, the polling data don't look that great for him.

Or maybe you don't remember the polling before the primary.

Good point. I remember a lot of people honestly thought Trone was going to prevail, but Alsobrooks ended up winning in a landslide. I think she has a hidden strength that isn’t really picked up in polls and “vibes”.

Feel the same way. Hogan has my vote.

Why? He’ll be a junior senior way off in policy from the Republican senior leadership. He’ll be able to accomplish nothing but give the Senate to McConnell Graham etc to do whatever they want.

Correction Junior Senator.

17% is a lot Undecideds for the Senate race. It will significantly tighten by Election Day with momentum toward Hogan. My prediction? The Senate race will be uncomfortably close but Alsobrooks will ultimately prevail. Harris will win POTUS by 25-28 points, but less than Biden in 2020 with 33 points over Trump.

Lots of white dudes in MD who like Hogan, even if they despise Trump.

Why? Everyone already knows everything they need to know about Hogan.

Alsobrooks will win

Watching ads where Hogan's surrogates say he supports Roe.
Has Hogan ever publicly stated that?
I guess they're hoping no one remembers his prior acts, but I definitely remember

Hogan will lose because of abortion…and that’s a dumb reason for a very popular former governor to lose.

If he wants to win, he needs to do a commercial saying he’s evolved on his stance on a woman’s right to choose and will fight for it. Then he should remind everyone of his otherwise moderate record.

If he just sticks with his current approach he will lose.
