Hogan running for Senate

You know fully well that there isn’t the support among the Democrats Senators, more less the Republican House to pass congress. It’s DOA. And Harris simply mimicked Biden’s plan, but I don’t think her heart is in it. A throwaway

I trust Hogan to not be the biggest POS like his fellow republicans, so I’ll take the chance in voting for him.

Susan Collins and Lisa Murlowski says “are you kidding me. I still have suckers, and can tell you anything”.

His only vote that matters will be for majority leader

Unless you have north of $100M of assets, the unrealized gains thing doesn't impact you. If you do, the congratulations for being in the .2%

Hogan means worse than the Great Depression and Don the grift continues on a larger scale

If you are in the 1percent good luck

If you are not and you vote for hogan you are dealing your families fate and it will be horrific.

The negative Hogan ads are now airing that the polls show the race is neck and neck.

This. A vote for Hogan is a vote for gridlock and a paralyzed Senate. With the Majority, Republicans will try to push through all sorts of extreme right wing legislation and won’t be able to build consensus, even amongst themselves!

Just look at the dysfunction in The House! They spent all year on petty politics and got nothing done! They can’t control their extremists. As long as Trump is in the party, MAGA conservatives are emboldened to sand bag all legislation. Your vote for Hogan is a vote for the Senate to get nothing done. Remember the majority is going to be slim, MAGAS don’t work well with others.

There is never a tax Dems haven't liked. Of course they'll argue unrealized gains will only be imposed in people making $100M. Then when they like the tax they'll lower it to $1M. Then they'll argue or it to be imposed on everyone no matter the income.

Dems like Biden and Harris now want to increase taxes on people earning as low as $400K, because they now consider people earning that much to be 'rich'. In demented Dems minds, there is never ever the possibility that the govt has a spending problem and that you can't keep taxing your way out of it.

Also, ANY kind of unrealized gain tax form highly volatile assets like stocks is a horrific idea for many reasons. One year the govt will set a budget based on X dollars of tax revenue because they expect a certain amount of income from taxation on unrealized gains. What are they going to do when the economy has a downturn and stocks tank 20% in a month? You think they'll cut spending simultaneously because next year's tax revenues on unrealized gains will be non-existent? Ha! Yeah right. The law of unintended consequences will take over and the govt will blow itself up even more when there's any kind of economic downturn or they have to dole out huge amounts of tax breaks to people who have gigantic unrealized losses whenever their holdings tank.

Just a really moronic idea..I'm voting out as many Dems from Congress as I can, becsie their economic and taxation policies are written by imbeciles.

Of course he said that. Do you think he would say "The polling data don't look that great, actually, but I'm still doing great with my core demographic of older rural white voters."

Someone posted the actual poll in the politics forum. That poll had them tied.

Since she has barely started campaigning, whereas he has name recognition and has been running ads, the polling data don't look that great for him.

Or maybe you don't remember the polling before the primary.

You were never going to vote for any Democrat anyway.

"I'm voting out as many Dems from Congress as I can" sure sounds like you're planning to commit voter fraud, though.

I’m a moderate Dem and voting Hogan. Harris and Trump both scare the bejesus out of me and I want an open-minded, moderate Senator.

You are not a moderate Democrat, and you were never going to vote for the Democratic candidate for Senate.

Not the point — but taxing unrealized gains is nuts!
