Can you elaborate on this. I’ve heard similar things but very broad info.

So he is taking over the existing u11 which will be the u12 team next year. I am asking who will be the coach of u11 for next year.

Just stop. DS is a good coach and person. Unfortunately he had too much on his plate this season. And with the new baby decided to move to Delaware.

-Should youth players train/play multiple positions, equal time or should a coach tie them into one area during practices/games? Thoughts on development and pro vs cons? GO!
depends on Age. Under the age of 12-13 kids should be doing multiple. Though sometimes there is such a talent gap the coaches cant do this. Thats why it’s important not to focus on team level until you get to 11v-11.

That’s where he’s from. Can’t blame someone for wanting to be closer to family with a new baby.

Wow, such an awful take. Either this is just a baseless troll or someone with an axe to grind. Either way, if you are involved with Valor you can take your business elsewhere. You won't be missed.

Both - Players, especially under 14 and 15 should learn to play multiple positions for a number of reasons. Only once they get into the 13/14/15 age group should you start to "specialize". This allows you to not only understand all the positions on the field but also understand where you need to play as part of your "regular" positions. You can't understand a person until you walk a mile in their shoes - same construct applies here. You need to play everywhere on the field as a younger player to fully understand the game. With that being said, you will still find that your player may find themselves in a position more often than not because of their current skill set. But as we go from 7v7 to 9v9 to 11v11 those positions and skills will change drastically. Some of the best attackers in the world started as defenders.

Why wouldn’t we work on individual player weaknesses to lift the entire team up complimenting team training instead of relying on single and specific talent locking that player in one area. Thoughts?

Agree. What soccer skills or characteristics: best dribbler: most accurate kicks; best passer/assists; agility and stamina would best fit into which specific positions?

For example, the best dribbler with foot skills and passing should be CM? Kickers, decent dribblers, very fast should be left and right wings? Any thoughts?

We get it. You don't love your experience with Valor. Move on to a different club if you're child is able to make any other clubs' teams instead of sitting in a Valor thread dumping on the whole club.

It must be the overall leadership and over promising of the club. This is supposed to be travel soccer (best of the best type s***) but has become expensive recreation in the end. Result of no standards or expectations set in place. I think the comments in this thread speak to that and its easy to dismiss the issue when you may have never experienced it. JMO

Compared to other club's threads this one isn't actually that bad. It's a handful of petty pissy parents repeatedly stirring the pot while everyone else calls them out for flat out lying. Sure, some are true and valid complaints/experiences but don't be fooled into believing everything on this anonymous board. 50 pages of back and forth and tangents about other clubs without even talking about Valor would hardly lead anyone to believe that Valor is a really crappy club compared to everybody else. Fcv's club thread has over a hundred pages worth of comments, very few of them are positive but I don't see anybody over there proclaiming how horrible the program is because of the posts.

“Sure some are true and valid complaints and experiences” ….Can you share which ones are true and valid?
