The UK officially and legally ended slavery in 1807. The song “Amazing Grace” was written by a reformed British slaver. The USA did not legally end slavery until 1865, after going to war with itself over it, and then continued to legally enshrine effective slavery through the penal system and racism through legal segregation for another hundred years. |
Not to mention monarchs like Queen Victoria was staunchly anti slavery, the early 19th century saw a major anti slavery movement in Britain, the British navy destroyed the North African slave trader pirates, and it was the British who effectively invented the whole anti-slavery movement and ended the practice of slavery in Africa. Which, by the way, upset many Africans who were growing wealthy off the profits of selling slaves to the new world. I guess it's bad old colonial oppression to have interfered with a historic, long standing cultural tradition ![]() |
I didn’t know about that! |
PP, where did you read/learn that? Honestly, Oprah profited off them so that’s rather hypocritical, isn’t it? Doing the big interview and then stepping away? Regardless, I agree it was very planned out. I don’t know if Harry has been manipulated or if he is equally culpable. |
They ultimately seem to want different lifestyles. He gets triggered with the paparazzi and she craves them. Dysfunctional relationship. |
Just seen a meme that says:
After a gruelling 2 hour car chase the paparazzi finally managed to lose Harry and Meghan. Love it! |
The original pp said first cousins, several generations removed and that is correct. It be looks like they are first cousins 12 times removed. “Queen Elizabeth I's grandfather was King Henry VII. King Henry VII is also Queen Elizabeth I's 12 times great-grandfather. This makes the two Elizabeths first cousins, many generations removed, as they are both descendants of King Henry VII.” |

That dude is so whipped he can’t even see straight. |
They practically grew up together! This is such a dumb point to make. They are not closely related that far apart. |
How can he be her great grandfather and her grandfather. |
100%. This is the issue. I think he thought by marrying a commoner American he could have his quiet life. He would have been better off with a rich aristocratic Brit with a country home so they could still “step back” but live in the UK and have money (hers.) |
Er yes, just check wikepedia if you dont believe it. Elizabeth I was a Tudor and this is a fact. The current royal family is of German origini, queen Victoria was of the royal house Hannover and her husband Albert was a prince Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. This is just another fact. The family changed the name from Saxe Coburg Gotha to Windsor after WWI because British people were pi$$ed off at anything german. El I and El II are not first cousin, they were born centuries apart. They are related, as any member or any royal fsmily in europe is more or less distantly related to members of other families since they married each other all the time. So they are related but El II is jit a direct descendant or El I or her family. The current family is German |
^^^ This. Although he does seem to need the celebrity aspect…it’s his identity. He’s conflicted. |
How do you guys believe she craves paparazzi while also believing she left the BRF (and the endless pap) for made up reasons? You are full of shit. 😅😅 |
