Oakton beat Norfolk Academy today 17-6. (NA is the 12th private school in VA according to lax numbers).

Woodson beat Viera 16-15 today. Viera is the 29th ranked team overall in Fla and 82nd ranked in the South region.

Madison beat Oceanside Academy yesterday and they were the #2 team in SC and #40 in the south region.

Oakton beat Kellum yesterday and they are VA class 6A region A and probably have been on Battlefield’s schedule at some point.

Woodson beat Satellite yesterday and they were the 54th ranked team in Fla and 176 in the south.

For comparisons sake, back when Langley won the title in 2019, they played (lost to 19-4) American Heritage Delray who was #1 in Fla and #8 in the US. Challenging themselves a bit more.

Battlefield has never played them. Lax has been club only in SE VA until this year.

OMG, please stop with the oakton oakton oakton. Yes I agree oakton is a good team, but they are not great at all. I watched them play twice and he’s they had some shining moments, but they are not a great team. And for you to say they blew out the 12th ranked private school team is pure comedy. That means that private school team is extremely sub par. And remember, you are talking about Virginia lacrosse. After the top privates in NOVA, and throwing in STAB and maybe Atlee, there is nothing left.
Nice try to again make it seem like oakton is king of all kings. Just like that other 2 posters said, oakton looks great because the opponents they are playing overall dropped in talent level.
I’m putting my money on Robinson or cville to make it to states

CVille has played and beaten a lot lesser teams than Oakton. We will see how good they truly are over the next month.

Watching Centreville videos from earlier this year since we play them in a few weeks and that’s an interesting team to watch with a very well coached dynamic. Are they the best in NoVa right now? The last rankings have them up fighting with the privates for top positions but they can be beat.
Try and be overly physical with them (Yorktown) and you’ll just piss them off and they will just grind you down. Try and out run and out sub them and they will match you, gas you out and then they speed it up more.
Not going to give you all that we saw but they seem to play with you for awhile, give you hope and then just start picking the other team apart.
One of the people I watched the video of them with said it best with they are like a fighter sizing you up, letting you get some shots in early and then just grinds you down. Piss them off and they will just keep punching you in the mouth.
But they can be beat!

Let’s see how Centreville matches up with Oakton and Madison. If they can keep a 1-2 goal differential or even a win, all the respect to Centreville this season. Centreville’s defense is not the strongest but they sure have some athletic middies who can make up for that. This season can go to any team who shows up. Good luck teams!
