They may well be. However, we (Asians, Indians, etc) are not the fools you think we are. We know not to vote for a republican governor or president while at the same time voting out extreme communist/leftists at the local level. Watch the next school board elections.

That's not what Nomani says:

These people now moved things to their secret WhatsApp groups and promising Asian and Indian communities a 2nd TJ in Herndon. At the same time actively promoting Republican agenda and candidates for VA Governor.

Exactly. This is GOP astroturfing 101.

Woosh.

It’s not a *GOP* thing, but that doesn’t stop them from politicizing it.

Aren’t these new PTSA officers openly campaigning for republican candidate for VA Gov? Promoting them in their WhatsApp group and asking for contribution?

And that's wrong because ????

Because the PTSA is a nonpartisan organization. They should not be campaigning for candidates if they want to keep their non-profit status.

This is correct. BQ resigned and HJ has stepped in.

LOL. “Stepped in”.

Rewriting history now, are we?

I mean, nothing more was meant by it. He was meant to wait for a year as President-Elect and now he's stepped in a year early as a result of the resignation.

Not even sure which perspective you're trying to advance here.

The anti-gaslighting "perspective". GMAFB. Stop trying to rewrite history as if nothing happened.

https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2021/07/thomas-jefferson-ptsa-president-ousted-state-group-threatens-to-revoke-charter/

Must be part of the astroturfing plan by the Koch associates.

Wow..... I mean, I'm pissed off about what happened too. I was just trying to answer the question. We are in agreement and not every post has to be super-critical.

Words matter. "Stepped in" grossly misrepresented what happened.

Feel free to fix rather than just offering criticism

Correction:
HJ, Nomani, and their Koch associates bullied and forced BQ out in an effort to push right-wing agenda.

Yet HJ is a Democrat and socially left-leaning. Also BQ was the bully that harassed members of the EC, not the other way around.

Whatever he calls himself, he partnered with known Koch associates to push right-wing agenda (anti CRT) and oust the old board. It was so bad that VA PTA stepped in.

His actions speak loudly.

The VA PTA stepped before he even took office. Also the narrative that BQ was bullied is a lie. The woman had multiple racial incidents prior to her resigning, first voting against him in the nominating committee process because she thought people would vote for him because he is black, and then insulting him in Facebook groups telling parents he couldn't read. Bonnie being a sexist bigot is what got her into trouble.

Stop trying to gaslight.

Here is why VA PTA stepped in - because of HJ's (and his Koch buddies) hostile takeover - detailed here:
https://files.constantcontact.com/7c20eee7001/475bb51a-8940-469c-bf77-c3e0e53b42b7.pdf

Oh man. Receipts are a b***h.

Anxiously awaiting the predictable rebuttal: "The Virginia PTA is engaging in partisan behavior and should have no authority over a local school's PTSA wah wah wah"

So holding an electronic vote, having meeting without an invitation because the President attempted to cancel, at the last minute, a properly scheduled meeting, is evidence of a hostile takeover? Or was it the action to censure her for racist and sexist comments that is the issue? All of the above perhaps. How dare someone standup to a bully!

Sorry - should have said "hostile takeover" along with MANY other shenanigans.

Did you read the full list yet? It's loooong.

Total sh1tshow.

He only did the three things in that letter. The other 'shenanigans' wasn't him but the previous Executive committee.

The previous executive committee had several members of the now-disgraced "Coalition 4 TJ", founded by noted rabble-rouser Asra Nomani, who was serving at the time as the PTSA's Corresponding Secretary. The Coalition, which failed in its stated goal to overturn the new admissions process at TJ, is the outside organization which is obliquely referenced in the VA PTA letter as inappropriately sponsoring several members of the newly-elected EC.

As Corresponding Secretary, Nomani frequently encouraged TJ parents to express their displeasure with decisions made by school and county administrators through the weekly "This Week at TJ" newsletter for which she was primarily responsible. She made it easy for parents to harass school and county officials by linking parents to a website with e-mail addresses ready to copy and paste, and actively discouraged parents from entering the nominating process for the following year's Executive Committee by highlighting the Nominating Committee's slate of "Recommended Candidates" for weeks prior to the election, making it appear as though the new Executive Committee had already been selected. Even so, most of the "Recommended" candidates who won did so by very narrow margins.

When the new President is sponsored by the old regime, the new President is held responsible for the actions of the old regime. Oh, and you forgot to mention repeatedly and publicly calling for the principal's resignation.

The old regime was Nick and Bonnie. HJ never called for the Principal’s resignation. It appears you don’t like him because he’s black, believes in merit-based admission, is against anti-Asian discrimination, and is inconvenient for your narrative.

Bullsh!t

Harry's name is not attached to either document. You are making a knowingly false statement.

Which names are on the letter from "the diversity committee"?

Not his.

The letter was issued “by the diversity committee” and he was clearly a leader of the diversity community, as noted in the meeting minutes from last year.

Has anyone FLMAed the actual letter?

Correction: He WAS NOT the Leader of the Diversity Committee last year. You are citing meeting minutes he briefed as he put together a STEM provider conference of those organizations that provide free and reduced-fee services for low-income households. You want to lynch him for doing that?

Given that he spoke for the diversity committee at every PTSA meeting in 2021 before the takeover, he was clearly a leader in the group.

I also don't get the cognitive dissonance.
"CRT sucks. We should be color blind!"
but then....
"Ignore the fact that we pulled some shady sh1t. People are attacking us because we are minorities! Lynching!"

We was prominent because he brought together STEM providers that offer free and reduced services together, disseminated that contact information to every middle school counselor in Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, and Prince William counties, and coordinated tutor services to low income households in the Hispanic community in Fairfax county. So he is an evil person because he finds CRT flawed and disagrees with the message put out by white saviors that Black and Brown are incapable of learning the same way White and Asian children can? Democrats should reassess why they are seeing people leave their party.

He's not "evil", but he and his associates have done some shady sh1t. With the PTA of a public school. Who does that?

Maybe he should have focused on the kids and not the political shenanigans.

I could name ten right now. That's just from one elementary school. Stone Hill has at least 30 such kids.
And these are just the ones denied algebra that they would have been without the state DOE and VMPI, that got LCPS to go adopt early.
There are hundreds more who will be getting algebra in 8th rather than 7th.

The changes to admissions policies came from national groups. These detailed plans including how essays will be graded by two reviewers, and the reviewers will receive periodic training to grade with equity considerations in mind, did not come from ad hoc meetings. They had the plans drawn up by national groups before they set up the committees.

Liar.

VDOE did NOT tell school districts that they can’t offer advanced classes or acceleration.

He's relying on reality. We all saw this play out in real time.

Some weren't paying attention and others were yelling deflections and got the big thread deleted (that was a good way to obscure what happened, when, and in what order). Which were you?

I think the Republican nut jobs making up lies got the thread deleted because it showed that they were blatantly lying.
