Wilson Kids 2019 Throwback After School Behavior

These students have every right to attend Wilson, to walk the streets and sidewalks of Tenleytown, to enter the stores, to be loud and joyous as they exit school and to be children. Yes, they are children even as teenagers. They have the same rights to make mistakes as your precious baby who will misbehave and throw sand at Turtle Park and picks its nose in K at Janney. And these students definitely have more societal rights to be in this community than the dog that you tied up to a pole. Please stop with all the poorly veiled racism. And it is poorly veiled because the students of Wilson get the clear message that they are not welcome in the neighborhood and this message leaves a permanent impression.

I have not perceived anything in this thread as having to do with racism. I think your inference is off on that one.

When we came outside, we found an MPD officer and a Whole Foods employee coaxing him out of the street on friggin Wisconsin Avenue, where they’d apparently chased him into traffic on purpose. They saved him but the kids ran away laughing. He was just a dog, I know, but my personal experiences with the Wilson kids in Tenley over the years have ranged from mildly annoying to outright dangerous…and even in the best of circumstances in a school filled with honor students who play the tuba, “rapid release” especially of that many kids in that age group is so so stupid.

The cops should have written a ticket/citation to you for animal cruelty. Who ties their dog to a pole in the middle of a busy city street? Leave the poor thing home!

Putting that aside, yeah, they are teenagers. They are loud and rowdy. But the neighbors in Tenley have a longstanding rep of being racist NIMBYs - the reason Wisconsin Ave looks like shit is because they fight to the death any new development or construction. If they want peace and tranquility and none of "those kids" - MOVE TO THE SUBURBS.

The worst posters in this discussions are the ones who say "not all Wilson students are bad, it's not fair to use such a broad brush" out of one corner of their mouths and then say "every single Tenley resident is a racist" out of the other corner.

I mean, I guess that would be ironic...if anyone had actually said that.

Imagine if someone had written "But the students at Wilson have a longstanding rep of being criminals".

That's pretty much the point of this entire thread.

This is the actual truthful answer. I live in the neighborhood. They have sealed food sitting wrapped in the chafing dishes.

The number of people who speak authoritatively about something and yet are completely wrong is startling:

Whole Foods Hot Bar has been open for several weeks as you can see above.

I am so happy right now. Did you literally go to Whole Foods and take photos just to prove someone wrong on DCUM?

"Guys, I am mad. I gotta go take photos of this gross hot bar."

It is weird the hills people will die on that are just wrong. How can you say you know the hot bar is closed when it is in fact open and has been for weeks.

No wonder politics are so 'f' Ed in this country. We cannot see reality in front of our noses. Thank you photographer.

PP, I fixed your photo to show the full horror of the Tenleytown Whole Foods hot bar.

This is photoshopped. You can tell by the pixels.

Here, this one includes the dog that ran away, but it is only there in spirit (because of the running away): https://imgur.com/a/urg57x9
