Wilson Kids 2019 Throwback After School Behavior

Anonymous
Have been enjoying seeing some new life in Tenleytown with AU students wandering and stocking up. Also saw the famous Wilson after school behavior on display again after so long (the bad, not the good which I'm sure exists). The standing in the cross walks out of light sequence, and the eating straight out of the Whole Foods prepared hot food cart without paying (or paying attention to Covid sanitation or posted protocol). Kids being kids or kids being twits?

Probably some of both. For unknown reasons, Wilson did something called "Rapid release" today during which the entire student body was required to leave the building within 5 minutes. Many students were surprised by this and it probably created some local pedestrian crowding. There's no explanation for the poor conduct in Whole Foods. But there's also no easy way for the local sidewalks to absorb 2000 students who are socializing and processing having been back in school for the first time in 18 months in 5 minutes.

It's grinchy of me to care, I know. It just trolls the neighborhood when this kind of annoying behavior is on repeat.. and realizing that its to nice to have young people around, but not the needless behaviors. I wish the school would look a little more at posting faculty or principal on that corner by the metro for half an hour, but they have always had the attitude that what happens in Vegas (Tenleytown after school) stays in Vegas...and don't seem to have a code of conduct either.

Side note: I'm not sure you know what "trolls" truly means. One of these teens can help.

Tenleytown residents love to brag they live in urban DC but then get crazy when they see urban kids doing urban stuff. Never change DCUM! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Stealing food is conventional urban behavior, is it?

That hot bar thing is disgusting. WF needs to put a stop to that.

Haha plus 100. They also think they are super urban sending their kids to almost all white DCPS (Janney, Murch etc) before sending them to private so they don't have to send thier kids to Deal and Wilson.

I can’t believe it still exists.

Normally the off duty police office would talks to the SRO, but I believe that program is somewhat in disarray? Someone at the school needs to be a contact for this.

This isn’t just a kid thing, I’ve seen many a patron taste along the way. Elderly women, young men. I never touch the hot bars.

Gross. Well, yesterday it was younger "patrons" filling their plates and then standing over the bar eating. Like they threw themselves a little welcome back buffet.

Personally, I don't care if they're stealing food from Whole Foods. Amazon can afford to cover the cost of it. What's the harm to you of teenagers acting like teenagers?
