McLean union coach isn't really that experienced at this level or this age group

Look who is listed as the assistant coach.

It was a lucky game that could have went either way and FCV was missing some key players

Not impressed by mclean union

The kind of comment you’d expect from an FCV Dad. Excuses and criticism. Nice example for your kids.

Agreed. What does missing key players mean? Were they out of town or missing good players in key positions or something else .

Key players left for other clubs. Just a guess based on PP's sore loser/sour grapes attitude.

ECNL bottom team is much better vs “top” GA…..

Why are so many parents still enamored with McLean for girls when they needed this merger to prop up and improve their ECNL sides with SYC’s talent?

that merge is such a good thing that happened for girls youth soccer and for McLean. girls at syc weren't going anywhere with this merge it gave them a college and pro pathway at least

They merged for the boys side.

Only the 08’s age group was “struggling” with results(whatever that is for u13). They got a big influx of new kids but only about 5(?) from SYC. They picked up another 7 or 8 from other places. At the older ages McLean is pretty consistent and has some really good teams. I do not think many SYC girls moved to the older age teams. Mclean tend to like the high IQ and high skilled girls who pass(still have to have the athleticism). It’s a different style of play vs some other clubs. It draws a certain type of player. Fitting a style of play is so important.

Mclean/Union are in a whole different level this year. The only team better is VDA and they may even lose to Mclean in ECNL play. Loudoun will be below them.

On the bright side, FCV will be below all three.

Here we go once again Mclean is big and bad because they barely beat FCV 1-0 Off a corner kick better hope FCV doesn't play you again in the final that would be embarrassing to lose after all this talk

I’m sure mclean is shaking in fear of having to play FCV again. Too bad FCV is in some BS league so it’ll never happen on the regular. Enjoy your loss FCV. Get used to it when trying to step outside your lane. Stay in GAL. Can’t hang w the big boys

Did you see the game or are you just lying about u14 girls soccer? Wow…WTF? Posted earlier

Not a parent of either team but saw most of the first half before my kid had a game. Goal was not scored on a corner, african American girl took it down the wing and crossed it. Winger took it off her chest and put it in. Nice goal. Va Union was more athletic and aggressive going to goal. FCV was more pattern play and moved the ball better. Pretty even game but when I left. I was surprised that the score ended up 1-0. Figured both would have scored a few more goals. Unbiased opinion- coin flip type of game but 2 very good teams that I can see doing well in both their leagues this year.

The goal was not off a corner. Not sure how the goal was scored matters anyway, but it wasn’t a set piece.
