OBGC Cup has VYS, MD United, FCV, VA Union, FC Frederick, Coppermine, MD So Rush Kraken, NLS Athena (shamrocks) - lots of good area DMV teams knocking the rust off and getting in some good early competition. Should be fun weekend.

Mclean was bottom of ECNL last year. FCV was top of GA. Either one team got much better or the other got much worse. Maybe both?

Mclean merged with SYC to form Virginia Union. It's a much different team

Agreed. What does missing key players mean? Were they out of town or missing good players in key positions or something else .

Not a parent of either team but saw most of the first half before my kid had a game. Goal was not scored on a corner, african American girl took it down the wing and crossed it. Winger took it off her chest and put it in. Nice goal. Va Union was more athletic and aggressive going to goal. FCV was more pattern play and moved the ball better. Pretty even game but when I left. I was surprised that the score ended up 1-0. Figured both would have scored a few more goals. Unbiased opinion- coin flip type of game but 2 very good teams that I can see doing well in both their leagues this year.
