Score?

3-2

The score was 3-2 and an Arlington player did get a yellow card (for roughing the goalie after the goalie had possession of the ball). Two of Arlington's goals were on a free kick and a penalty kick.

So FCV couldn’t handle Arlington’s forwards and resorted to fouling. Got it.

So you are putting stock into a 3-2 friendly where bench players get more playing time than the entire season. Got it. LOL.

When will any of you learn that Friendlies mean nothing?

I know, I know. It sucks. Just come back when your kiddo does it in the Jeff Cup, ECNL, or GA playoffs and not against bench players in the preseason friendly. Lol.

Didn't say friendlies do mean anything I was just responding to a post that seemed to try and discredit the goals because they were a free kick and a PK. It is a friendly and carries little weight overall but it is a barometer.

Free kicks and PKs mean very little in a friendly.

They mean two things;
1. The defender got beat and had no alternative but to foul.
2. The player striking the ball obviously did their job. Shot placement matters.

Friendlies never mean anything to teams that lose them.

Free kicks only happen when a defender gets beat and has to foul? Watch more soccer.

So you are implying that the free kick was awarded without a foul?

DP Usually if your forwards are beating the defenders you get a few goals from the field. Not all your goals from free kicks and pks.

And yet 25-28% of goals scored are done so on set pieces.

Wow, I expected that Arlington would beat FCV by at at least 4 goals. Arlington 08 might struggle in ECNL.

FCV actually won because free kicks don't count
