I feel sad for you. |
Also, FWIW I get annoyed that women don't wear slips and they basically walk around naked in their ridiculous tights. BUT a pool is where you basically hang out in your underwear. Thong would be too far, but this is fine. |
| If you have to ask for opinions from strangers then you are not comfortable with it! It’s a normal bikini in my eyes ..., wear away! |
NP. I don’t have a problem with it but the feminist in me is wondering why women’s bathing suits expose so much, compared to men’s? It just seems expected that we show most of our butts and boobs (and have perfectly flat abs if we’re going to expose them) but men are swimming in shorts literally down to their knees (many with guts). With the exception of rash guards, women’s suits are getting smaller and men’s suits are getting longer. It’s strange, isn’t it? |
|
I think both are fine. I usually wear a one piece (as I like to do laps or a bikini with a rash guard.
Rock it! |
| No one wants to see your cheeks. Please save that for a different setting than the community pool. |
Well, I don’t think OP is a dried-up WASP raisin, so who cares? |
This clearly comes up near the navel. I don’t know why people find the back cut-out so scandalous. It doesn’t show crack. |
And what's wrong with that? Why do I need to show off my body if I'd rather not? Your judgment in this direction is gross too. |
Yes I feel exactly the same way. I loved being pregnant last summer because I felt like I could get away with being more covered up (swim skirt etc) without being judged as a grump. I hate all the waxing etc that has to go into revealing bathing suit styles that are the norm. |
| Lots of the anti-suit arguments are reminiscent of Wahhabis and the Taliban. Maybe she just likes the suit. It is not remotely revealing. I don’t care if OP is a 0 or 10. Lots of policing from insecure women who clearly are afraid their husbands will give OP a second glance. Maybe these women gave up a long time ago and/or are projecting their insecurity into OP (99.998% of women have cellulite; many men do too.) OP, the people on this thread are delusional. Signed, a suburban married mom in NoVa. |
| I love these suits. I am 60 and now in the 60-70 age group in my Masters swim team. We do hard, hard workouts in our "practical" suits but I am getting suits like these for the laid-back pool days. I'd rather enjoy seeing my boyfriend jealous. |
|
OP, I like the suit and ordered some similar. It’s what most swimsuits are like this year, even some offered at Athleta, one of the mom-favorite stores on this site.
Wear it if it’s comfortable and makes you feel great! |
It is neither progressive or particularly pro female to suggest anti suit arguments are reflective of "taliban" like thinking, or originate from "insecure" women who "gave up a long time ago" This is your view of women? Because it sounds pretty biased and I don't think you grasped the nuanced perspective of what people said and I think you are unaware of how antiquated you sound. You can't find a way to support her without sh$ttting on women who disagree with you? We're all hags? You returned to some of the ugliest, sextet tropes about women. Right...we are all envious old b#tches and afraid our husbands will be blinded by her hot body. I hate when this viewpoint comes up here and it does frequently. You have no data for this claim. She asked if it was appropriate and some felt it was not. That's it. That is not delusion, it's just a different opinion. |
Too much cheek for community pool, but great for the beach. |
