Is this appropriate for the community pool?

My thoughts are along these lines. The first suit and pic OP posted, I would think the woman had a gorgeous figure showcased well in a cute suit (I’m a straight woman, but she looks great). The second pic, I would think “Wow. This woman literally has no @ss at all, and she looks like she is wearing a diaper. But she also has no cellulite, which must be nice.” Then I would go back to looking at the first lady. OP, my take is you would probably look better in the first suit, but of course you should wear what you want.

Honest to god, one mom had swim capris? and a long sleeve rash guard at ours. It reminded me of those modesty suits the Duggars wear.

You know women who wear those often have a high risk of skin cancer. That is why they are wearing them.

Wear what you want OP. You liking the suit is what matters. Just make sure to properly apply sunscreen. You may be showing skin that has not seen the sun in awhile.

Rashguards and swim capri/legging wearing mom here. Skin cancer runs deadly through my family. I am not playing when it comes to having a future with my kids.

Sighhh. Wouldn’t it be so nice if everyone would just stop worrying about what other people are doing? The people judging the moms wearing rash guards and leggings are just as bad as the ones judging the moms wearing the skimpier suits. Just mind your own business!

Awesome, but don't be giving butt cheek mom side eye.

No skin in this game (ha!) I will be there in a rashguard with my BFF who is also a mom who only wears bikinis. She wears
them for yard work (with short shorts) too. We laugh at our different approaches and she reminds me to take my vitamin D. No side eye from me. Women should wear what makes them feel good. (everyone else too)

This thread became a cesspool of toxicity but I have that first suit OP posted - the exact same one - so I’ll just say this...OP: you have good taste 😉

Lastly, wedgies are of no concern. The seams keep it in place. Each suit varies, but I have MULTIPLE of this style, majority are from the same brand of the first suit and I’ve never had this issue. Diving, jumping, swimming, and believe it or not — bending to grab something out of the cooler...GASP! I’ve literally never had to remove the suit from my crack doing any of these things.

I LOVE rash guards. They keep me cooler when it's hot out and if they make me too cold I can just take it off (I wear a bandana bikini top underneath). I can't believe i made it to the tender age of 42 before being clued in on them.

I don't really care of anyone stares or talks behind my back. I might stare back for fun though.

Do they keep you warmer in cold pools? Or just keep you cold and wet?

I wonder if you are talking about me...I wear a long sleeve rash guard and swim capris because; 1) I am very pale skinned and get sunburned easily. I have also got sun poisoning in the past, which believe me is not fun; 2) skin cancer runs in my family and i just had surgery for it, as did my mom just weeks before; 3) I'm on a medication that makes me sensative to sunlight and burn even easier.

My kids also wear looms sleeve rashguards. My brother is a pediatric dermatologist, I follow his advice to prevent sun poisoning and skin cancer.

Oh, just wanted to add, I don't give butt cheek mom a side eye, people should wear what they are comfortable in. However, if a guy showed up at our pool in one of those Borat thong things, I would definitely be giving a side eye, LOL!

Thank goodness no men wear speedos. But if they did, they shouldn't. Shows too much. Same for almost-thong bikinis, or barely there bikinis. It's classier to show less. It just is.

Well Most of the classy beaches/pools I have been to are the beaches/pool with people people wearing the least. You argument doesn’t hold water.

If an out of shape man chooses to wear a speedo for whatever reason, I would not have an issue. Sometimes we wear less clothing just for convenience, the community pool is a perfect place to practice benign neglect, it’s not a meat market, yeesh.

At least it’s not expected: https://thegoodlifefrance.com/speedos-versus-trunks-in-swimming-pools-in-france/

Maybe she is a skin cancer survivor. I hope you at least pretended not to stare.

This was my first thought. As someone with a family history of skin cancer and who is very pale, you bet I put my size 2 self into a rash guard and a non-skimpy bottom (sometimes even UPF pants). Can I rock my mom bod in a bikini? SURE! But alas, not for me. So stop judging either way.

I’ll worry about “class” when I’m 80. My body looks good so I’m gonna enjoy it while I can.
