Is this appropriate for the community pool?

OP, I don't like the suit you posted, but not because it shows too much skin. There is something about the bow that makes me think of a toddler swimsuit But, if you like it, wear it!

A woman was wearing a suit like this at our community pool the other day. I noticed her immediately and thought, "That's a cute suit!" My next thought was, "Damn, that lady has a kicking body and tons of confidence." I say, go for it, assuming you will be comfortable.

Wow I just moved here from Miami. Y'all are plain and boring 😂😂

I’m from Miami, too. Most everyone (young, old, fat, skinny) wears small bikinis. Nobody cares. DC is weird.

yup. you dont realize till you leave how judgmental and conservative it is- to the point of stifling.

To the Euro and Miami posters do the men wear speedos? What about at the community pool? I’m tired of seeing those baggy long board shorts they look so uncomfortable for splashing in the pool. I would love to suggest some shorter fitted swim trunks for DH.

Wear it if you want. Ignore the jealous biddies.

Why? What if it were a resort with kids or a beach with kids? How will it affect young minds to some minor butt cheek? Come on.

You aren't at a resort laying in a lounge chair while the waiter brings you another margarita. You are with people you see at school functions, sports games, etc. all year. I don't think these suits are "inappropriate", but, most women aren't wearing these at local community pools whether they have a hot body or not. Is the suit going to stay in place while you run after a kid or have to dig through your cooler to find a drink?[/quote]

LMAO, that’s not exactly an active endeavor. How out of shape are you?

I'm not out of shape. I don't want my girl scouts (and their mom and dad's) looking at my ass all summer.

Pretty much. Not sure why this is the way here.

I think it's fine unless your backside is really large.

Skinny women can get away with a lot. Curvier women can seem a little more desperate for attention in a skimpier suit.

It hardly seems scandalous but community pools are so ultra conservative that I'd be surprised if people didn't talk.

I'm assuming you care about that since you asked so I might look for a little more coverage in the back

I’m gonna repeat this once again:

WEAR WHAT YOU WANT

I don’t give a **F** what judgmental people I don’t know or speak to say about me behind my back at the pool, even if we grant the unlikely possibility they are actually doing that at all when they most likely aren’t. The moms I see at the pool are playing with their kids. Keeping them from drowning. Sitting on a chair and relaxing. They don’t care what swimsuit I’m wearing. They’re either not thinking about anyone’s swimsuit at all or they’re worried about how they look in theirs.

I wear bikinis that suit my body and that I like. I wear them for a) me and b) at a far second place, my own husband. Nobody at the cOmMuNiTy pOoL gets to decide for me what I am comfortable wearing. I fully understand they almost certainly don’t care and if they do, they can enjoy worrying about it cause I’m doing my own thing and not concerned with what they think.

Wear the swimsuit you want to wear and feel good in. Period.

What’s obvious?

NP: fat, old, and frumpy.

Hey I resent this! I’m fat old and frumpy and I think this suit looks cool and you should wear what makes you happy!!

Yeah I'm really surprised so many people care about what others might say about them at the "Community" pool. I mean who gives a fvu$k? I mean even if "they" did gossip, what does it matter?

+1

Honest to god, one mom had swim capris? and a long sleeve rash guard at ours. It reminded me of those modesty suits the Duggars wear.

You know women who wear those often have a high risk of skin cancer. That is why they are wearing them.

Wear what you want OP. You liking the suit is what matters. Just make sure to properly apply sunscreen. You may be showing skin that has not seen the sun in awhile.
