Because they can.

Remember this is the USA and girl travel soccer. Assists are not important only goals are important. This is why you should never pass!

Who had a player attend the girls ID session. What was your thoughts?

My DD attended. Overall it was a great experience. She liked the coaches, it was challenging and she had fun and made some new friends. I liked the camp director and thought they did a great job overall.

I noticed that on the boys side, the vast majority of the kids who made the regional team were the ones who made it last year.. A few of the kids were good, but many were average players in comparison to the others. There was an outstanding CB who didn't make it (no not my son) and I was very surprised.

The girls pool hasn’t been announced yet has it? How could they announce the boys so fast when theirs was after the girls?

So don't know if all age groups were like this, but at the end of the second day they made the boys who didnt make it watch the players who did play against each other. Ninety plus degrees out, they've been busting their asses for two straight days, then fully insult them making them sit through a game for a team they didn't make. We've been to many tryouts, but have never seen that much flagrant disregard for the kids.

Yea the core of that list is cemented early on and it's VERY tough to bump one of those player off. By about u13/14 the top youth soccer squads are set and very little changes past that.

That was 08 boys. Normally at tryouts, they just thank the kids for coming and say we'll let you know kind of thing. Many parents were pissed with them adding insult to injury.

Wow. I hope parents say something. I found the East region camp to be a mess this year (I have a daughter). Not well organized, minimal field time (the coach couldn’t handle more than one small group at a time and had the others standing on the sideline and observing for 20 min at a time), minimal scrimmaging. Just a complete waste of time and money.

I would hope so, but not so sure it's worth it for VA boys after watching the tournament and the ID camp. I just looked through past regional teams and they are highly weighted with PA and NY kids. The previous 07 team had zero VA boys on it. Eastern PA district had 20. Hello? Also noticed that the online ODP regional tournament schedule redirected to the Eastern PA Youth Soccer website. Should have been a clue right there.
