How's the food overall? Does the pool have a full grill / bar?
For golf do you pay for a cart every time you go out, or is it included? How much is it to take out a guest? Tee times easy to get whenever you want one? |
Not really. There’s a waiting list. |

It’s not fancy but it’s still a fancy country club if that makes sense.
The history is bad but not as bad as a lot of others! It’s outrageously expensive but not that expensive. |
| What about the YMCA |
how is this helpful? I guess I'll just hit a pitching wedge around the YMCA soccer field |
|
uh, no. maybe they told YOU that, but I did not have a waiting list. |
Do you have a backyard? YMCA has everything else Kenwood offers. |
BS they are begging. And facilities are very old, basically a dump. Golf is fine. OP it's fine if you like Lots of MAGA. Lots of anti semitism. |
No there is not a waiting list. |
Another KCC member here. It’s not for you. If you want upgraded everything join Bethesda. It’s a low key club, food is fine, clubhouse is old and meh but also… is fine. We love swim team, tennis, easy to golf quickly (close to our house), indoor pool… it’s family oriented and great for what it is. |
And, how much do you pay for "meh"? |
We’re members of Kenwood because 1) it’s very close to our house 2) it has the sports facilities that we use, particularly a very nice, usually uncrowded indoor pool 3) our kids love the swim team 4) it’s a chill place to hang out -particularly at the outdoor bar and outdoor dining area in the summer 5) it was relatively simple to join We’re older and well established in Washington. Lots of friends and social connections, long before we ever thought of joining Kenwood. We have zero interest in that aspect of country club membership. We’re rich. We aren’t interested in impressing anyone. Most of our friends and families don’t even know that we belong to a country club. |
I'm sure they do and they're probably super tired of hearing about it. Just join the St. James or the Y. |
Hahaha. Your 1980 copy of The Preppy Handbook is getting moldy. Nobody is approached to join the Metropolitan Club at age 25. Maybe in 1952, but not now. And PS, most of these clubs actually want new members, and most of those new members have made their own money. |
