Kenwood Country Club

It’s impressive how a question about a country club can get so heated!

What is wrong with some of you? Who really cares why OP wants to join a country club!!!

How much does this club cost per year?

I don’t think people at Kenwood notice or care who joins. It’s more like joining a gym. Great for kids, tennis and golf.

Also, what is the history of Kenwood w/re to anti-Semitism and racism?

Whatever Kenwood’s history it, it’s history. There are a number of non-white members, and an annual Hanukkah party (and menorah in the lobby in December).

Are monthly dues the same thing as the monthly minimum for food/drink? Or are they separate things? Can you get food/drinks at the pool?

Who joins a club to climb, it should already be a part of your path. You should be approached at 25 to join the Met Club, 30 for CCC and then Pine Valley and a great vacation house club (Sankaty, Ocean Forest, Seminole) thereafter. If you have really nailed it, the Links and ANGC might follow as well.

Interested in learning more about kenwood. Joining fee, monthly fee, overall vibe there. Mostly interested in it for golf but my daughters also swim, so would do swim team too.

70k initiation, $730 monthly dues, $225/quarter food and beverage, $150 annual range fee, $100/quarter service charge. But call to confirm. They will give all this information to you.

Folks are underselling the indoor pool and hot tub … clean, peaceful, swim clinics for kids…makes it year round. What other CC has this? (I belong elsewhere but have cousins that are members)

I met a friend for lunch at Kenwood and the dining room had a substantial amount of elderly ladies. It appears this is not the case?

I mean, if it was lunch during the work day, a dining room full of old ladies would make sense...

If by “good,” you mean “minimally adequate,” then I suppose.

They are about to build a massive addition to the fitness center facility - squash, indoor basketball/court, golf simulators, etc. it looks amazing.

For the size of the club, it’s just perfect. Good enough golf, laid back, but invests in year round usage.

If you want fancy, join Chevy, Columbia or Congressional. No one will argue that Kenwood isn’t as fancy but that’s why I joined. It’s just fine.

Also, don't knock it before you've seen it. I was very pleasantly surprised when we toured.
