in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when Charlie and Willie were in the glass elevator, Charlie said candy doesn’t need to have a point, that’s why it’s candy. Junk tv is the same way. It doesn’t need to have a point or have all plot holes filled in. Just enjoy it for the entertainment it provides. |
| I read the first few posts on this thread and figured I’d check it out. Just watched the first episode. Wow, this is so good! I’m going to try to binge a couple more episodes tonight. |
+1 |
| Wow, this show was beyond awful. Bad acting. Stupid plot. Unlikable characters. This should have just been a two hour bad movie… |
Nope. You are voted off the island. Opinion invalid. |
Re-watch it and look at how the Director emphasized stupid lip movements/twitches when doing close ups of the main characters. Why did we even need the filler story of the gay black dude? The white bf doesn’t even come close to being able to act. The entire “I’m going to sue for slander” theme took a lot of time to develop and then fizzes out needlessly. Why would the girl, while in the middle of a $11mm lawsuit agree to meet the other chick without consulting with anyone and jeopardize everything? So stupid. |

I have to agree very sloppy ending. Why indeed walk away from a Lawsuit. Jeanette's family was torn apart, her father lost his Real Estate Company. Just very unbelievable.
Mallory is a Huge trouble maker in this whole show See how she manipulates everyone. Kate ,well she has her own issues. She went into the relationship with this Principle with her eyes wide open. I do not know if he was a real predator or just attracted to her and panicked when she wanted to leave on Christmas. Then of course he went nuts. Sure he would have been arrested and his career over and I think that was what he was thinking of at the time. I have seen young teachers date girls after they graduate. One married one of the girls he started dating after she graduated and they have been married 40 years. It happens. I would have liked a flashback to what Martins life was like at the other high school were another girl said he came after her. Lots of jumbling around on this series. It would be nice if they laid the foundation out better. But maybe that is part of the mystery of what was happening. Basically it shows everyone is not really who they proclaim to be on the surface. What lays inside each of them is a different person, just not the one they let others see. I was so disappointed in Jeanette- how she sneaked in Martin's house and heard Kate in the basement crying for help. But it does show that each has lied considerably. This is pretty typical of Teenagers. Their families do not know how much they have been lied to. I personally experienced this with my own children. Mainly my daughter when she was a teen. I would hope the next season cleans things up. They could have easily run 20 shows in season one to clear up much. |

First three episodes of Season 2 is out.
New cast New storyline Summer of 99 & 2000 It’s good enough to keep me interested so far. I kind of hate the over emphasized makeup change to show “this girl went through something”. |
| I watched the first two episodes and liked them. But the Dec 1999 parts are so visually dark, and then the summer 2000 are super dark. I wish there was a way to differentiate between summer 1999 and Dec 1999 without it being that dark. |
