That would be incredibly wasteful (paper, postage, time). I hope they email.

Incredibly wasteful to send out 6,000 letters? You sound ridiculous.

That's $2600 in postage alone. And then 12 reams of paper, and ink and labor. Meanwhile the cost of email is already sunk.

Yes, wasteful.

That money is already sunk. The school district mails hundreds of thousands of letters all the time.

Pretty surprised notifications haven’t been sent out. What are they waiting for? Is it that difficult?

Totally agree

Hopefully tomorrow...

I don’t think they are distinguishing between emails and letters on what you put up. It even says that letters were sent to notify in pool but I believe those were emails... Since everything has been by email, I would be surprised if by mail this time.

They may also be sending out emails and follow up with regular mail.

Checked regular mail too. Nothing. Once again another fail by FCPS.

If they are mailing them out, they would send them out today or tomorrow... You wouldn’t have it already. Also, most likely will be emails.

Decisions have been made. There is no reason a freaking email couldn’t have gone out today. Utter fail.

Either let everyone know, or don’t publish that notifications will be made starting today. Very odd and unprofessional.

Yes, completely agree. What’s really aggravating is they expect us to be on time with their stupid deadline, which they moved up a whole month earlier. But they can’t be bothered to get their decisions out on time. Wtf is the hold up? Push send on an email.

They will using a hybrid approach to notification this year - roughly 40% will receive letters in the mail while 60% will receive emails. You selected your method the time you very first communicated with someone at FCPS for your child - by phone or letter -- you "Opted in" to postal AAP notification. By email -- you "opted in" to email notification. There may be some slight differences school-by-school, depending on factors district administrators cannot articulate. Everyone is trying their best.
