I think both PP are hinting at the fact that if FCPS were email before 5pm, you would have a bunch of disappointed and angry parents trying to reach staff. At least that is how I read it.

According to this DCUM thread last year, looks like email notifcations went out just before 2:30 PM.

Yes, we got the email just before 2:30 on first day after spring break last year.

Last year it was email but everyone was remote bc of Covid so maybe it’s back to snail mail this year.
