RANT ON! DC is making absolutely zero effort to clear snow from the bike lanes

Hell, I'll bite. Look, I've been a commuter for 20 years. I love me some lanes, which didn't even used to exist. For a lot of those years, my commute was out of economic necessity, including God awful winter weather. The lanes just aren't a priority, especially now. Back before Covid, I was thrilled damn near to tears to see they had plowed the Met Branch Trail. This area is NEVER perfect about winter road maintenance.
And like it or not, that trail's mixed use and we need to share it with pedestrians, scooters, skaters, and the occasional canine. |
