My sons have always done this. They play soccer in 25 degree weather at night. Their team is year round.

Whenever it is cold--players wear the underarmour long sleeve and tights under their uniform---or at practices under the training kit.

They do the same playing basketball outdoors. BUt_ NBA players have been doing this for years (indoors too) so not sure why people think its new.

Oh--but I agree--if they just going to play with friends outside--they'll just wear sweatpants/track pants.

Honestly, I find the look kind of hot on men. Besides, it's WAYYYY better than a guy just wearing leggings. Practicality/function + a little modesty = attractive.

Lol, I do too--my husband wears this sometimes when he goes for a run or Crossfit workout.

Me too!! It's so random, but I'm into it.

You ladies are my people.

Men wearings shorts over leggings is much more attractive than a guy in just leggings with his parts on full display. Or flopping around in some shorts. And who wants to work out in sweatpants?!

Besides, I feel like the type of men to wear this style actually work out, and not just play dress up or go to the gym to show that they were there. They get the function, because function is important to a good workout. I dig it.

I feel like in shape, black men can work this look more than white men. Sorry white boys!

Neither am I. My son did this playing high school sports 5 years ago. Sometimes it was compression pants, sometimes it was plain
underarmor.

Robbie & Miguel in Cobra Kai (popular on Netflix now) are sporting it. Might be why some kids are new to it. But for sporty kids they always did this.

+10000000000

Protip for OP's neighbors: get an athletic sock and tie a knot at the end. Tuck the end opposite the knot in your waistband and run the sock down one leg.

But this is false advertising!

I am super thankful my neighbor does this. I really don't want to see his junk every morning.

i wear leggings in public well trying to but i wear slightly longer tshirts and jumpers instead of shorts and they work a treat but still get the odd few people looking and i think whats wrong you never seen a guy wear leggings before the tshirt and jumper act like the shorts for coverage so whats wrong with that looks far betetr then wearing shorts which to me look daft you see joggers and cyclists wearing leggings without shorts on sometimes so why not a slightly longer tshirt etc they still do the job

They could be compression pants.

No equivalent? What about sweat pants? If the purpose of the legging is to provide warmth, why not wear sweat pants instead of shorts?

The purpose of the leggings is compression and to prevent chafing. Not warmth.

I don't think it is a 'look' they are trying to 'work,' its just practical and they don't care how it looks.

Why do you wear leggings, OP? Do't you think the men are talking about disgusting your fat ass looks in essentially tights? Yes, we know your ass is jiggle-jiggly.

I don’t go to a gym, but I have noticed that tons of pro basketball players dress like this for games. I think the leggings also protect their skin against getting scratched and stuff, which isn’t a concern for the average person, but it doesn’t look weird to me anymore. Probably doesn’t look weird to men who watch sports either.

Guy here who workout 6 days a week and think it is a stupid look.

Sweat pants are more constricting. They aren’t as good at moisture wicking. They’re not as warm.

Mind your business, lady

It's looks terrible!!! And it's sadder to they have no female in their lives steering them away from panty hose.
