Pro athletes started wearing compression leggings and it became a popular style after that. Leggings, sleeve, etc.

Op are you a man or woman? Just myob |
|
Of course there's a practical reason, OP. Same reason 2-layer shorts exist, and I wear them running in summer as a woman.
Honestly, I find the look kind of hot on men. Besides, it's WAYYYY better than a guy just wearing leggings. Practicality/function + a little modesty = attractive. |
It's not dumb. I expect they do it so they're not...hanging out through Lycra in public. I like the look, personally. |
Yeah, lots of men wear a bra... |
| I mean, I get it- a lot of guys might not want to have their bulge just out on display in compression tights, but wear them for warmth and/or compression. |
Lol, I do too--my husband wears this sometimes when he goes for a run or Crossfit workout.
|
| because LEGGINGS AREN'T PANTS |
| My husband does this too and I think it looks stupid. I've seen some really fit guys that could pull it off but I still think it's an unnecessary look. Just wear sweatpants. |
| My husband does this. They are compression tights which help him with swelling. He wears shorts over them because he's not working out so that everyone can stare at him. When he runs outdoors he often is all alone and just wears the tights. His bike pants look similarly too. |
Me too!! It's so random, but I'm into it. |
| I've seen guys do this for years, it's no big deal. They are cold or want to be a bit more modest. Works for me. |
You ladies are my people.
Men wearings shorts over leggings is much more attractive than a guy in just leggings with his parts on full display. Or flopping around in some shorts. And who wants to work out in sweatpants?! Besides, I feel like the type of men to wear this style actually work out, and not just play dress up or go to the gym to show that they were there. They get the function, because function is important to a good workout. I dig it. |
This. I'm one of the PPs--my husband is a former D1 track athlete. His "easy" running pace is an 8-min mile, and he does several triathlons a year. He wears this look occasionally, and it's definitely not for show. |
