I hope those that keep saying eating meat is the way to lose weight, take note. Also, people who claim it is all diet, you clearly work out and walk.
Healthy vegan is likely the best way to a healthy weight. Do you still eat some grand other than oatmeal?
At the beginning how hungry were you after the veggie lunches and dinners? Or were you not hungry?

It’s literally 95% food. I lost 125 pounds on weight watchers and didn’t exercise until after I had lost 100 pounds. It was all diet.

Is OP a man or woman?

I am a woman. I think I get enough protein. Hard to convey my diet. It varies. But I don’t overeat anymore and I am still vegan.

NP and I’m glad to hear this and have concluded as much for myself. I have about 100-110 to lose and exercise beyond walking is painful for me. Biking kills my a55, running kills my knees, I can’t get up from a squat, but I love to walk at a good pace and can do so without pain once I found good shoes. I don’t intend to add any exercise besides walking until I’ve lost at least 30# or more. I’m doing My Fitness Pal but found WW to be successful in the past. I don’t like the new program as much.

It sounds to me like he's incredibly healthy. The protein craze is marketing-driven. People don't need massive amounts of protein.

What do you want people to say to you?

I never know what to say when this happens to friends or acquaintances. I ran into a friend once that had a 100 lb weight loss and I didn’t even recognize her. Is saying you look great offensive- as in you used to not look great? In general I avoid acknowledging people’s weight gain/loss since I have to idea the circumstances behind it or if it is intentional. But not acknowledging 100+ Lbs weight loss seems weird too. What response would you like from people that haven’t seen since pre-pandemic?

I love when people say something. But I don’t expect it. I agree sometimes you don’t know what is behind the weight loss, and generally I wouldn’t say something to someone I hadn’t seen in 100 pounds unless I knew the circumstances.

Someone on this thread said Talk about a Glow Up. That made me smile.

I worked with a guy who lost a lot of weight doing chemo--he started out overweight so he had plenty to lose. Everyone kept telling him he looked great and it made me cringe every time. The thing is he DIDN'T look great -- he looked sick! Ugh.

I'm the same height and age as you OP, and your story is very inspiring. Do you take any vitamins?

Who gets gassy from veggies?? That’s is the craziest thing I have ever read.

Maybe I'll splurge on an arm lift some day.

I've lost 70 and need to push through the last 25. How did you keep going? I'm stuck.
