Yellow Jackets Coming to DC?

There isn't the talent pool to support another major club in nova. And with suspect leadership, it will be even more difficult for it to be successful, even with the backing of a larger more prominent program.

The parents have been really welcoming to my daughter since we are new to the area she’s made friends with some really nice girls. However the parents I’ve talked to have said that there was a family that was a cancer and talks about everybody behind peoples backs. We were told to be careful that a heavy set dad has been the cause of much of the negativity. I wouldn’t be surprised if most if not all of these negativity is from that obsessive dad. I really feel sorry for the daughter. What type of example are the parents setting for their daughter. No program is perfect. Now as part of this program they have provided so many extras that the other programs do not have. My daughter is happy and frankly, that is all my wife and I care about!

Having your daughter happy is all that matters. However, I don't think these are trolls with hate here. Rather I believe a lot of folks know the true story around the program and the history here. They are just trying to bring that out in the open. Out of curiosity, were you part of the Rattlers program before the YJ merge?

Of course they were. That is the director typing that! Always blaming parents or making up some story about someone to deflect. That cute fake little post has her classic signature of not being fully cognitive. That is why we ran her out of Robinson! She puts on a good show that is true. It doesn’t take long for most to realize she is full of lies and extremely unprofessional when dealing with parents and most of the athletes. Also anyone who is a part of this club knows that she promises tons of stuff then cancels. You always can have a good guessing game when, where, and if there will be a practice that is for sure!

We left after our first year with her and know for a fact nothing has changed when she is running things. A few of families we know are running as soon as they can this summer.

Not surprised on this in the least bit. As mentioned earlier, the YJ org is in for a shock on the fake promises that were given to them. Also, didn't she screw over Patriot HS recently for their HC opening, at least that's the rumor going around? All around sounds like a disaster.

My kid doesn't play for her, but met her at a camp. Didn't she win a few championships with Robinson amd help several girls play at the next level? Setting potential organizational issues aside, she seemed nice and knew lacrosse.

Honest opinion here. DD has been with club for sometime. Some okay coaches, but with change was sold new coaches and more qualified coaches would be brought in. Hasn’t happened. Girls that are on the teams are average with some above average talent. Still some mixed age group teams and younger teams are an afterthought. Lots of shuffling with schedule. Some empty promises at times on what to expect from the club. Not sure if the change to YJ and getting the YJ resources will allow the club to grow and improve or not. Mixed messaging on goal of club. Brining in the best of talent was at the cutover meeting and change of culture, yet haven’t seen that. Just trying to bring in bodies and not talent. Director seems to be unsure of transition and not sure what to do with herself at practices. DD of director basically does what she wants and practices with whatever team she wants which creates conflict with girls. In a nutshell, club means well, is trying hard, has a slight chance, director needs to change her ways and really embrace the gift given to her with YJ buying her out.

Not sure where you can get the best talent when you have tryouts in December, girls are already committed to teams.

Also it’s not cheap if you’re going to try and compete with stars/pride for talent you can’t charge more then they do.

We had some experience with Rattlers - average club for girls looking to have fun playing lacrosse. 2021s had some low D1 (ODU, Detroit Mercy), D2, and better D3 (York, UMW) players moving on. Right now, definitely not a team for girls looking to play high level D1. Guessing they aim to pull from PW, Loudoun, and western Fairfax ....with quality coaches (???) they could build over time. Director has roots in NY and already had connections in the YJ organization.

Yes she inherited THREE girls at JWR who were great player. In NoVA 1-2 studs makes a difference and she had three. They were corralled by her, not coached by her. They all chose to play club with other coaches. The best played at CRASH which no longer exists. Three girls who played together in HS since freshman year made a great run in a really weak NoVA public school environment. The moment they left, she left.

^Truth. Going to be interesting to see what all happens when the main YJ folks see the disaster this really is.

Those three great players are the coattails that she road on. As the PP said, she did not coach those girls. If anything, these girls coached her. She also made bad decisions that caused everyone to doubt her judgment for the players' safety and welfare the last year. She put KM at significant risk of ending her sports career playing injured. After those three graduated, combined with her inability to develop players and other conflict issues, her welcome at JWR expired. She is, however, very talented in taking credit for others' work and pretending she had something to do with it. She is as fake of a person as they come. I will never let my DD ever be around her or coached by her, no matter her organizational affiliations.

How is this possible?

You don't win 3 STATE championships by luck or just having 3 great players. Not with 12 players on the field. Looking up some old articles, seems like defense and goalies stepped up to contribute as well. That screams team win to me. Great coaches lead their teams and prepare them. Seems like she did her job. Other HS teams like Langley and Woodson had some great talent during those years. Also, talent always comes and goes at the public high school level. "Nothing gold can stay."
