The Crown - season 4

I didn’t enjoy the first season, found it very slow. But glad I stuck with it if not for a sort of education (really not familiar with any members of the BRF past Queen Elizabeth II).

Unlike most people, she seemingly gets demoted as she gets older. I enjoy watching this especially in light of Harry and Meghan. She chose to stay and get pushed farther and farther out of the inner circle while he has escaped. I assume that is what episode 7 was trying to elude to after she is removed from the short list of Queen Proxies and her friend encourages her to leave for the church. For a show that says it will not touch on the current family dynamic, this season seems to have made an effort to do just that.

She is magnificent in this role. Episode 7 when she finds the cousins and confronts her mother is just beautifully painful.

My wife and I want to watch The Crown but read that the TV-MA rating is partly for nudity.

We're not comfortable watching shows with a lot of sex, so how much of that is there in The Crown?

Very little

I have zero recollection of there being any, so it must have been fast and very forgettable.

I have a vague sense that it was once implied that Elizabeth gave Philip a BJ (NOT shown) and that Tony Snowdon had a three-way. I can't think of anything else.

I was ten years old when Di and Charles got married, and I remember Thatcher, the Falkland Islands War, etc. Also remember hating Charles and Camilla and loving Diana, whatever year(s) it was that somehow I heard about the marital issues. This show has brought back a lot of memories.

I really hate Charles and Camilla still.

It’s weird to me that people say things like they hate Charles and Camilla.

You don’t know them and you didn’t know Diana.

Charles and Camilla have now been married longer than he was married to Diana. Get over it.

I think we saw (young) Philip's hiney twice in season 1.

Certainly not in Season 4. I think it's minimal in the rest of the seasons too. They mainly just talk about Charles and Diana and Philip having affairs.

So?
If you don't like them then you do not like them

All I'll say is that I met the Queen once and she was seriously so lovely. I mean, it's her job so she has to be lovely but it was really special to meet her. We were briefed extensively before she came and it was made very clear to us that we can greet her any way we liked, no curtseys necessary. She asked some great questions and wore a fabulous pink coat and I have to say, it was so cool!

oh my gosh that is amazing!! was it in the US and that is why you did not have to curtsey? I just assumed anyone did, but I guess it makes sense you do not have to if you're not of the Commonwealth
