The Crown - season 4

I watched 4 episodes on Sunday. Now I have to pace myself so I can enjoy every minute.

I infrequently feel sympathetic for the royal family (excluding Diana of course) but this show does make me feel bad for them sometimes! Especially Charles and Margaret.

Can I skip to this season if I haven't watched the series?

I'm on the 7th episode. God, how rude and patronizing the family is to Diana and Margaret Thatcher. It's their fault that Diana didn't know what to do and it's also their fault that Thatcher doesn't know what clothing to bring. How would she know they were going out traipsing around in the mud?

Really? I think it’s a caricature. The whole head tilt thing is way overdone. She’s trying so hard to get Thatcher’s accent and pacing, she sounds robotic and has a weird raspiness in her voice. Watch videos of Thatcher — she did often speak at a slow pace, but her voice wasn’t strained at all.

I agree Anderson is overacting. It's kind of annoying, and I've only watched the first episode!

How naieve are you? Diana and Margaret were both notorious for how much they hated the royal family. You think there weren’t good reasons for that?

Does the Queen always invite the Prime Minister to spend a week at Balmoral with her family? Seems like such an incredibly awkward thing to do—mixing professional and personal lives.

I think the whole Balmoral segment was meant to allegorical, for lack of a better word. There’s no way that Thatcher wasn’t briefed on what to expect, but they wanted to dramatize the class divide. Thatcher and Diana both hated Balmoral, but Diana knew how to act the part.

Np I would encourage you to watch it in order. You will get more out of it when you have.

Yes. It’s not an unusual type of thing in the political world. The President invites foreign leaders to Camp David, members of Congress travel together & have all manner of weekend events. In any case, inviting people to spend time at your country house is a thing amongst the British upper classes.

Really. You need to learn to spell the big words before you use them. NAIVE. The show, for better or worse, is a FICTION its not a documentary or a docudrama.

You are like those weirdos who watch soaps all day and believe they are happening.

The British should really get their own version of Kardashians.
Their obsession with the royals is ridiculous
