What’s an ABD?

American Born Desi I'm guessing? Generally I've heard "ABCD" but ABD is much more polite.

Thanks!

Ummm he is saying she is lying about everything. She clearly wasn't. This is not a good person.

Agree, major sleaze vibes.

The process is not different than a lot of Indian-Muslims I know, so it was kind of weirdly absent.

India has 1 billion Hindus. The show only featured 6 or 7 main people. Why would it be weirdly absent? The whole point of a matchmaker is to match people from same religious and cultural backgrounds so families stay connected. Matchmakers are part of that community.

The comments on his IG post are mainly people calling him on his BS lies.

Lmao. I feel like the Guyanan chick will eventually marry a whitey

She is really confused. It's weird how she continues to say she's not Indian, even though she absolutely is.

She's not confused, I think it's other people who are confused and expect her to be a certain way because of appearances. She does not seem very culturally Indian despite the genetics.

I felt like she needed a really crystal clear way of describing herself that answered, "are you Indian?" with a "yes." She could have explained more as things progressed, but keep it simple enough on the first date. "I am, though I grew up partially in Guyana and then was raised primarily in the US."

As is, she sort of muddied that waters a little bit ("People think I am Latina! Which maybe I am?" etc.) on something that seemed like it might be a dealbreaker for people on a first date when they are looking for an Indian spouse. She was one of my favorites and seemed lovely.

I am only halfway through it, but my first thought was the same! That kid is as gay as the day. Too bad that he lives in a country that is not accepting.

I don't think any of that matters. Vyasar seems like such a superb guy, and him and Rashi seemed like a good fit, but he confirmed they're not together and that he's single. I hope he finds the one.

He seems nice, but he has some dealbreakers at least from my perspective.

1) He comes from a dysfunctional background
2) He is super into Dungeons and Dragons and cartoons and wants a woman who is also into it. Personally, I could maybe overlook this but enthusiastic participation would not be in the cards
3) He expects his wife to homeschool kids. This is a major dealbreaker for many, many women. I'd be out on this alone.
4) The public school thing doesn't bother me per se, but see #3 for why it would be a problem. Quit your career to homeschool and live on a public school salary? Yeah, no to that.

Me neither. Particularly height in women. The guys seemed to value it highly and even their mom's were like "no shorties! Don't even think about someone under 5'3!"

Well culturally she doesn't feel it. I get that. She's a catch in many respects (nice, fun, pretty), but could work on the vocal fry. I'd go crazy listening to that.

"Like...like...like..." and the giggling! She comes across as a bit dumb and superficial, even though she might not actually be (?)

Nadia is gorgeous. No body but a face to die for

Oh she has the body too. Slim, tall, with curves? Her coloring and build are pretty ideal in Indian culture. Aparna is on her way to dumpy middle age.

Akshays mom a wacko. The poor guy still has the mentality of a 12 year old because Of her

Yep I think he is arrogant. Maybe not a 0 on the Kinsey scale but not a 6 either.
