+1. But these vain old women are cluelessly uploading their pictures and bragging that they look 20 yrs younger |
J Lo easily looks forty even though she turned fifty last year.
In two months, she will be 51! I think it is possible if a).You stay out of the sun and B).You do not smoke cigarettes. Bonus points for getting plenty of sleep, exercise + healthy diet. And extra bonus points if you are Asian. Because they age at a slower rate.... |
I'm not uploading my pics for praise on Insta. But I am regularly told I look 30-38 years old (I'm 48). People, men and women, volunteer this opinion, I'm not asking.
I think the reasons why are: -I'm black and Asian -Genetics (e.g., my grandmother was always mistaken for my mother) -Sunscreen daily and avoiding the sun since I was 16 (had a skin cancer scare when I was a tween) -I'm 5-10 lbs overweight, have a round face and full cheeks -Never smoked, rarely drink I noticed that I looked like I aged recently, gaining a forehead line and a bunny line and some crows feet, and my skin is looking duller (I'm perimenopausal; the drop in hormones has caused the new wrinkles, I think). So I've started an actual "beauty regimen": vitamin C serum under the sunscreen in the AM; vitamin C serum plus eye cream plus a moisturizer in the PM; occasional exfoliating with an AHA treatment. These are Cerave and The Ordinary products. So far I'm liking the results -- still have lines, which I'm fine with, but skin looks a little dewier. I think most women nowadays look younger than their age due to the popularity of daily sunscreen and the unpopularity of smoking. Plus the availability of injectables and different says to resurface facial skin. I don't know why someone thinking they look ten years younger seems to be such a controversial notion on this thread. |
My parents are retired and they still ask them for an ID there as a matter of policy. ![]() |
Hepburn was an anorexic and smoker with a history of health issues. |
Somewhere the person who made that computer program is laughing all the way to the bank at all the insecure old people bragging about their BS “young” results. |
Genetics is the magic. Can't screw that up unless your a meth head living in a convertible with a broken roof, under the desert sun. |
^you're |
I’m 39 and I have good skin (I don’t get much sun and I take good care of it), but I still look 39.
Since I don’t plan on going the Botox and fillers route, I just hope I end up with good happy wrinkles, like Isabella Rossellini. I lack her Italian genes, however! |
Really? I have a couple of African-American and Asian friends who definitely look 10 years (or even more) younger than their actual age. |
My mom is 70 and looks like she's in her mid-40s. It's totally due to genetics, and the fact that she has always shielded her skin from the sun (always wears hats and long dresses rather than sunscreen). Alas, I inherited my father's skin, and hated the way she forced me to wear hats when I was young, so now I'm paying the price. |
You only think that because you’ve never lived in an Asian or African country. |
Forget 10 years younger! I get 20 years younger, and damn proud of it! I have been protecting my skin since my 20’s! Take collagen. Eat and take supplements that are high in antioxidants. Eat a clean veggie diet. Don’t drink or smoke! Yes I’m boring now but taking care of your insides shows on your skin. Have a great chemical exfoliating skin care regimen. I wanted to age well and looked into what it takes and fast forward to 42 I get I’m in my 20’s honestly I’m a chicken when it comes to needles and I wanted a more proactive approach than a surgery approach. youthfulness is also a state of mind... I’m genuinely happy and smiling all the time and playful.

Every poster on this thread is fit. Amazing.
Except the one woman early on who admitted she was a "chubby" size 8. |
Well if the only way to guess their real age is by carefully analyzing their face for aging tells, or having lived overseas, then they must look young for their age. |
