I am naturally small-framed and thin - body look more like 15 than late 40's. I eat a good diet and get exercise, but I know that it's 90% due to genes. I'll take it while it lasts -- which is probably only a few more years.

I’m sure your body does not look 15 if you are late 40s. Keep dreaming. Post a pic.

NP. Same age and can easily wear kids' size 12-14.
No one said they looked 15 naked

And no one said it was better to look 15. Most 15 year olds are not hot stacked chicks, they are boyish looking

This thread is about looking younger, which is what most women want.

Are you serious? She looks every bit of 65 or older in the face.

+1. She's a beautiful, mature woman, who looks it.

Someone once told me that you can always tell the difference between a teen and someone older if you look at their knees. I thought they were crazy, but it's actually true. The skin around one's knees after 30 or so is markedly different from an 18 year old's.

I'm 50, but I probably look 40ish - I haven't gone gray yet and I have worn sunscreen on my face everyday since I was 30. (That said, my chest and hands probably looks 60 because of sun damage; obviously I didn't put sunscreen there and we lived in the Middle East for 5 years.)

Pretty much everyone has a "tell" but some people are better about picking up on those tells than others. Hands, chest, and eyes are the first ones I look for.

I looked 35 until I was about 44. I used to get the "no, way you're not 40!" Aww comments all the time. I was called "miss" at all stores, every by teenagers.

Then I turned 46. And am in peri menopause. And it's like I aged 10 years. I look every bit my age. and very Jen in public addresses me by "m'am".

People think they look young because aging happens slowly and everyone around them looks older too. I definitely look 42. Maybe I could pass for “between 35-40”, but it’s not because I look younger it’s because other women my age hit the tanning beds and/or cigarettes in their 20s and look older.

SPF higher than 3/5/8 came out in the late 80s. The concept of wearing SPF 15 or 30 on your face every day, putting it in makeup took off in the late 90s.
Smoking rates went down in the 90s and early 00s.
Tanning beds are not as popular/ common as they were in the 90s.
Botox took off in the early 2000s.
Whitening toothpaste and affordable orthodontics are more of a thing for Millenials and younger generations.

Women who are 35-55 today look much younger than when our own moms were 35-55, but most of us look the same age as each other in our own generation.

My dad is 62, and most people think he's in his late 40s. Genes, good diet, exercise, low stress.
I'm 32, I've been obsessive about wearing sunscreen and have done that since I was in HS. And again, genes, good diet, exercise, and low stress. Most people guess I'm 23-25.

Like the PP said above, this is good but not great for today's generation. For reference, I am 35 and I have worn high SPF sunscreen and used high strength prescription retinoids on my face daily since, no joke, 12.

OK, but you're not going to drag someone older than you for not having had access to those things, right?

I'm 46 and Asian, and I do get comments about how young I look. I think part of it is how I carry myself, how I dress, my haircut, being short and petite, and generally not being frumpy looking which most women can avoid. The only thing that I did right when I was younger was being religious about moisturizing my skin, not tanning excessively, and not smoking. The strange thing is I do think I look younger without makeup on. Maybe I'm just not wearing makeup right but I definitely look older with it on.
