They will put forth 2 teams (U15/U17) in this MLS league and the others will play in the EDP with hopes of someday getting on the MLS team. The girls are still waiting to see what FCV does. If they join the GLA then Arlington will too with hopes of selling it to their families. If FCV is doing it then it must be good! EDP is an option for girls too but up to this point it has been light on the girls side. Arlington views the boys and girls separately and are not willing to base decisions for one looking at how it will impact the other. They are going to make the best decision for the boys team and then look at what options remain for their girls and will make the best available decision for the girls. If ECNL is not on the table for the girls they cannot chose it.
Makes sense and is a good plan if everything else makes sense. Why wouldn’t the MLS have a play in tourney for local boys non-MLS
Clubs so we can see who can hang on the merits? Seems like a better answer for everybody, including the MLS teams, who want the best competition.
