FCV DA parents-please do share if you are hearing anything substantive from Bobby or Christian. They are only communicating with the DA parents and not the United teams which also have some talented players worried about their futures too. Apparently those players mean nothing to the club as the parents and players have to find out through Twitter and the grapevine what is happening! |
![]() A youth club and parent but hugger. That is RICH! Reminds me of the kids in middle school who would suck up to the popular kids at the lunch table. Maybe the dude who keeps saying stuff about the cool kids table on here is right about us Soccer and youth soccer in general being run as an extension of grade school. |
^^^nut hugger. Though butt hugger would also work! |
Yes, they don’t care about the non-DA or “part time” DA kids. You should already know this by your experience. If it has taken you until now with the lack of a virtual meeting discussion on the topic to realize this, you aren’t paying attention. You just aren’t at the cool kids table. Don’t be a nut hugger like the other guy. |
United doesn’t play DA, so how does this matter for United? |
+1 |
It matters to us because without the income to the club from DA teams, who knows if we even still have a club. |
Wrong - some of the United players are PT DA too. So they absolutely should have told ALL of the FCV parents, not just the current DA families. It really does effect the entire club since they don't have a feeder/player dev program as previously stated multiple times on here. Pretty sad way to run a small club where everyone knows everyone else... |
+1000-I sincerely hope a lot of DA players plan to run to ECNL clubs instead-would serve them right after the way they treat the remainder of the player pool!! |
Absolutely. No one is returning calls or emails from non-DA parents. |
FCV is lucky that youth soccer is shut down right now.
Can other ECNL teams sign their players on May 1? |
DA clubs did not do this to the players. Players/parents are not upset at their DA club. |
Disagree there. Other top national clubs like SD Surf had a plan and executed it. FCV did not. The club and its leadership are at fault for failing to line up a spot with ECNL. |
Maybe the other clubs were more in the know. Or maybe the FCV leadership is planning to jump ship and are too busy investigating their own options to worry about the girls.. |
Tend to agree here. IMO, as an FCV parent, in order to prevent a mass exodus of their top players, they need to go on an ECNL or bust campaign. EDP isn't going to cut it. Anything other than ECNL, at least on the girls side doesn't make much sense if you truly care about the players. Let's also not forget the the St James is not much more than a gym on steroids, which is closed right now. Who knows how they will look financially post-covid. That said, it could be that whatever move FCV makes could be temporary if STJ decides to start shedding some of these types of assets. |
