Lexi is back at Navarro. Posted last night. Rooting for her. she has a lot of talent and could obvs use some more direction (even if from a robotic Coach haha).

Yes. UCA and NCA are the two main cheer competitions. They each have different styles. If you remember the show Cheerleader Nation, that filmed Dunbar High School (in Kentucky), UCA is the comp they attended.

It's not a different "type" of cheerleading, it's a different company/ competition structure they organize under.

I looked on YouTube to see an entire 2 minute routine and they are fantastic. Bummer Varsity sports wouldn't let them film at the competition.

I don't want to include spoilers in my response, but do you mean why they had to leave the mat? The reason they are allowed to start over is because years ago they would be required to keep going and that incentivized athletes who were injured to push through to not let the team down or some of the team wouldn't realize what was happening and it could cause more issues if the music continued. It was written into the rules to restart.

Again, possible spoiler below, be warned:

Can you imagine if they tried the pyramid in that scenario, if they'd kept going? Disaster.

I am watching the last episode right now. I didn't read this thread because I don't want any spoilers.

I love Monica. She's like if Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights was a woman.

Wow, really? I thought he was kind of a total jerk. He has anger issues, he constantly called his partner fat, a crybaby, etc. He can't control his temper. In the last episode he was teaching a clinic and if my daughter were taking it and I heard the way he talked to those kids, I'd pull her in a heartbeat, and tell him exactly why.

Not PP but I agree w/ you both. LaDarius was an asshole but when he talked about his childhood - basically being abandoned and abused - I felt for him. Most kids from problematic backgrounds like that grow up to be doing a lot worse than being a bitchy gay dude on cheer squad.

That said my favorite was Jerry. He was SO adorable.

I know this is really mean but all of the girls were so trashy looking? Awful skin, long acrylic nails, ratty hair. They looked dirty.

Yes. Many of them have come from difficult backgrounds, but Jerry and Morgan are proof that coming from a difficult background doesn't have to mean you treat others like crap. You deal with your issues on your own time and don't make them other people's issues.

I really do not think LaDarius was being that big of a jerk to the kids he was coaching at the end. Again, super bitchy but he wasn't abusing anyone. Look, I wouldn't put my kid in a program like that but the moms shown talking about their kids in his program didn't seem to care.
