I got no creepy vibe from him. Instead, I got a whiff of sadness and poignancy; lost love, lost job. He is someone totally into what he does and seems afraid of real intimacy (which he admitted while talking about his ex). I was happy to see he regained a co-coach title at the end. I enjoyed seeing his relationship with Vontae. Also - does anyone know what happened to Monica’s male assistant coach who seemed to disappear after spring 2020? I feel like I missed something.

Yahoo reported that Andy left to start a cheer camp called Cheer Source.

On a lighter note- this show makes my 1959 Arlington brick box house seem so crappy. I don’t want to live in the Texas exurbs but at least I’d have a huge house with a shiny kitchen, huge closets, etc.

I have never before wanted a McMansion but watching this made me realize most of the country would think I live in a tiny, dinged up dump.

Manipulation. She turns her emotions and affection on and off as needed to get what she wants from those kids.

Is this the "Ladarius turns on Monica" episode?
I agree, she seems like a master manipulator.

I'm not sure thats fair. Ladarius has major issues around abandonment. She does seem to get emotionally invested in her "kids" which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

+1. I thought her crying when they hugged in the Season 2 finale was completely genuine. She knows how much he went through and how mad he was at her, and it was a reconciliation moment. I teared up too.

Can we talk about Jerry's sentence? Too long? Too short? Where this will leave him after he gets out?

He received a 12 year sentence. Does that include the near 2 years he has already served ? If yes he will be out in a little over 10 years at age 33. That’s still young. He admitted to having sex with a 15 year old in the bathroom of a cheer competition so he is a literal pedophile. If the best case situation occurs and he is fully rehabilitated on release and isn’t any danger to kids then I am ok with it but rehabilitation isn’t our systems strong point. Whats more likely to happen is he learns more tricks of the trade from “ colleagues” in prison.

I wish all pedophiles were sentenced to at least that long. Unfortunately they aren't. I think Jerry's sentence is that long because of the attention and popularity of the show.

Does anyone have a opinion about various cast members like monica aldama writing character statements in favour of Jerry getting a reduced sentence?

Personally I fall on the side of wanting the criminal justice system to be more about rehabilitation than punishment. The safety of children is of course vital and Jerry will be on the sex offenders register for life so can’t ever be hired to work with children. He is also famous so future parents of teenage boys in cheer will know to keep their sons away from him if they ever happen to cross paths.

I don’t think it serves society well to permanently shun it’s wong doers, that just drives them into the shadows where they will operate unfettered by positive people around them. If Monica acts as a mentor to him to keep him on the straight and narrow after release then great!

I generally agree with this approach to criminal justice….except in the case of pedophiles. Haven’t all the researchers and specialists and doctors agreed that they can’t be rehabilitated? If this isn’t true, please correct me. If it is true, best to keep them away from their targets as long as possible and severely restrict their freedoms once released so they don’t have access to abuse again.

I think if Jerry was never on Cheer, the 2 boys wouldn't have come forward.

I think Jerry is a total pedo and deserved more than 12 years. I also think the boys and their mom are attention whores & money seeking scum.

NP. Nope, they've found ways to rehab them, but unfortunately one of those ways is community integration which is obviously hard when nobody wants anything to do with someone on the offender registry.

Anyone following the latest tea? Firstly, Gabi Butler stopped dying her hair black. It's brown now, but looks horrible (probably because she dyed it black for so long) and unhealthy. Maybe she's trying to get it healthy?

Anyway ... apparently La'Darious Marshall posted on Tik Tok about how Gabi went to something years ago in black face (I saw pictures - I think this was before Cheer) and said they hooked up. Then Gabi posted a video as a rebuttal yelling at him. The best part was when she told him she wasn't even going to respond, because she's classy. AS SHE WAS RESPONDING TO HIM! Then she said she'd pray for him. Amen. I love when pretty or talented yet stupid people get in fights and make them public.
