Am I the only one who didn't love Lexi? She sounded like she was high all the time. She was fine. Just annoying.

Wow, really? I thought he was kind of a total jerk. He has anger issues, he constantly called his partner fat, a crybaby, etc. He can't control his temper. In the last episode he was teaching a clinic and if my daughter were taking it and I heard the way he talked to those kids, I'd pull her in a heartbeat, and tell him exactly why.

I loved him, but seriously it could be because I used to teach school in SEDC and I had similar kids. That kind of awful childhood with an incarcerated parent (let alone the emotional abuse from his brothers and the physical abuse from the older friend) can be the hardest on the kids that are the smartest and most sensitive, which I think he is. I imagine it's extremely difficult for him to be on a team. He just doesn't have the reserves of default empathy and trust that you or I might have. He reacts to everything like it's a threat and he has to figure out his own way on everything from scratch. None of the things we take for granted about being on a team were modeled for him as a kid at home. And yet, in spite of that, he managed and succeeded. He even did his best to apologize/support his teammate on the phone that one time. It's NOT what was natural to him, and no one did it for him when he was feeling anxious or sad or nervous as a kid - that's him growing as a person.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's a marshmallow underneath. I think he's a very intense and very tough person. I just saw so much on the show that was a testament to his character and his ability to overcome his childhood and figure out how to make himself a life from the worst possible start. I couldn't help but root for him.

For sure I didn't get the appeal of Lexi. Although I LOLed at the rave scene where they were like, ooooooo, look at this dangerous rave!

I don't know if she was high or just very low IQ (both?), but I also found her annoying and painful to listen to.

I love your perspective! so beautifully articulated.

Gabi's dad was effing disgusting with the soul patch and combover and cheesy shirts. I have dated some weird and ugly dudes but I could never be sexually attracted to a grown man who sits around judging cheer competitions.

I thought he was closeted gay.

Mm, maybe. I mostly got a sleazy creep vibe.

Yes, and it was, like, a backyard in Houston LMFAO.

As mentioned in another post, they do all have very bad skin but I assumed that was from constantly cheering/performing (and thus, sweating) with layers and layers of stage makeup on their faces.

This show is really something. A lot of these kids have such tough lives, but through cheer and this program they have found a home, focus, family. Really cool. But ye gods, the injuries! The show does a really good job of making you care for the kids and hope for the best for them in the future!

LOL, I was doing push-ups at my boot camp this morning and thought about Monica telling me I had to do 50 b/c I screwed up a stunt. Definitely helped with my motivation!

He said he learned a lot at Navarro, dropped a ton of weight, and became a better cheerleader there. Monica said that she looks for potential, so that probably played a role as well.

Jerry now cheers at Louisville.

This makes me so happy. He seems like a great person and role model. So hard-working and positive. Love!

Same. I was impressed about everything he overcame and is really trying hard to make a life for himself. Brave and motivated. But a dick. If he had talked the way he did to/about Ally right before Daytona, he'd be sidelined instantaneously.
