Public Trump Impeachment Hearing Mega Thread

Just like a mafia boss, although they had the good sense not to do business by phone.

The GOP “no harm, no foul” defense was negated - the Schiff/Taylor exchange reveals that the price of withholding of Ukraine aid is paid in human lives and in real estate in the Eastern part of the country.

Republicans have bent over and their trousers are down for Trump/Putin/Russia.

Trump can’t hack it in business or in politics.

everything is mafia tactics, nepotism, and favors

Didn’t Russia put money in the nra and the nra then put it in the gop?

Is it not that simple?

Yes and also directly into various right wing SuperPACs including the ones controlled by McConnell and Rand Paul.

So far this hearing has been tedious and almost boring.

I say this as someone who listened to the impeachment hearings for Nixon and Clinton. Those hearings - especially the one for Nixon - was riveting. This has been a sleeper so far and I say this as someone who is a political junkie.

Junkies already know most everything

IDK why did Republicans love the McCain family for their history of service to the country?

It wasn't for his service. McCain was offered a release from torture because of who his father was and wouldn't leave. That doesn't mean that conservatives also didn't see McCain as wrong in other ways of thinking. Hero worship is not something that comes naturally to conservatives. We see Trump's flaws but we also know what went on behind the scenes and how the mainstream media goes out of their way to trash him, while protecting Democrats, some who have some "interesting" histories.

Hero worship seems to be the very definition of conservatism these days. FWIW, the MSM doesn't have to go out of their way to report on Trump's behaviour - he tweets out his reprehensible conduct.

Remember when reporters were trying to shame the DNC for not giving Fox a debate?

They have commercials today? No commercials on MSNBC.

Huh? The first day of the Nixon hearings was a sleeper. From WaPo:

If you like to watch grass grow, you would have loved the opening yesterday of the Senate select committee’s hearings on the Watergate and related campaign misdeeds."
